"Asian" Cats20 May 2006 16:55 GMT3
PETA has gone further overboard, in case you were wondering if that
were possible.  Now they are objecting to the name "Siamese" cat and
want it changed to "Asian" in order to be PC (reminds me of the silly
controversy over Indian mascots for sports teams).
how long do cats hold a grudge?19 May 2006 20:30 GMT7
I lost my temper and yelled at my cat.  He ran to the next room and has
been giving me a cold shoulder for 3 days.  Is this normal?

barlyn is getting better19 May 2006 16:37 GMT2
just wanted to let everyone know barlyn is getting better. He is responding
more and more to me as the days go by. The only concern i have now is he will

vet has no ideal why he is doing this. Anyone have ...
Can you get cats to stop climbing everything?18 May 2006 09:04 GMT14
He sits on my printer, desks, tvs, cabinets, everything and anything.
Gets hair all over it -- makes it dirty, etc. There's always clumps of
cat hair gathering in corners, dust, ugh, etc...
Anyway, how do I get him to stop climbing over everything? He keeps
Advice on commercial foods from a nationally prominent professional18 May 2006 05:23 GMT8
We didn't ask for and don't have permission to name the source, so I
won't, but a family member received this advice on commercial cat food
from a nationally prominent professional:
"Ironically, the most expensive foods are not usually better than lower

kitten has bump on head18 May 2006 02:25 GMT2
We have two ten week old kittens (along with an array of other cats, dogs,
birds and lizards). We call them the twins as they look exactly alike and
are always together. My granddaughter noticed today a prominent
(unmovable)bump on one of their heads. It is between the back and the ...

feral cats in my barn18 May 2006 00:10 GMT3
I live on an old farm with several barns and other outbuildings.  A few
months ago I noticed some wild cats hanging around.  They were very wary
of human contact and I couldn't get within 20 feet without them scattering.
Unfortunately, nature seems to have taken over.  The other ...
Diabetic cat17 May 2006 23:28 GMT2
My cat, Abby, was diagnosed with diabeties yesterday.   For now, we are
controlling it with diet and some oral medication.   The vet said that
this only works medium to long term with about 30% of cats, so it's
likely she's going to require insulin shots at some point in the

The cat's claws are unique in the animal kingdom in design and
function. Many mammals have claws, with the primary function as an aid
in digging and climbing, and for added traction. The claws of these
eating problem - help!!17 May 2006 14:20 GMT4
Male cat - 8 yrs old - 15 lb.
used to be happy with his dry food.  I started to give him half a can
of wet ev. 3rd day as a treat.  Then expanded it to a full can.  Now, I
think he's holding out for the wet. Barely touches the dry.
Purina DM17 May 2006 05:10 GMT26
My diabetic cat has been using Purina DM for about a year now. I am
amazed that it controls her diabetes but am concerned that it gets so
dry. My vet only sells the 12 lb bags which take about 3 months to go
through. Sooner or later, the food gets drier and I hear her crunching
Where do you get the best price on "superpremium" canned food?17 May 2006 04:41 GMT13
I normally buy at Petsmart and have a pretty good strategy of watching
their sales and combining them coupons. However, they only carry Fancy
Feast, Pro Plan, Eucanuba etc., the brands I might conveniently call
premium but not "superpremium" ones I see selling for about twice as
