I had a cat that always liked to sit on anything warm and soft, but he hardly ever got underneath the blankets even if it was warm. Do they not like to be covered up?

We have a problem with at least one of our cats not using the litter box to do "Number 2", she will urinate in the box but when it comes to the other she does it in the floor around the box. A little background info: We have four cats in a house with about 1500 sq.

Well she has been with us for 3 weeks now.I bought her at a pet shop and she was declawed on four feet and neutred. She was really shy at first and wouldn't eat or drink. Now she is great and eating prescription diet and drinking (from the toilet bowl).

I live in a 3rd story apartment complex, so this isn't feasible; however, I was wondering why people let their cats roam around outside w/o a leash? Most dog owners put their pets on leashes, but why not cats?
