Returned from vacation, cats driving me crazy09 Jan 2006 21:10 GMT8
We just returned from a two week vacation.  Now my cats are crying and
howling all day and night.  Wherever we are in the house, they go where we
aren't and make all this racket.  What are they trying to tell us, and what
can I do about it?  I'm sure they will be back to normal in a ...
How to manage a wet food diet for cats09 Jan 2006 20:29 GMT8
I've decided to put my four cats on a diet of wet food only, as I think
it'll help me control their weight and keep them hydrated. My vet
agrees that wet food is a good idea.
In my hand is a 5.5 oz can of Science Diet turkey and giblets entree.

New Family Member?08 Jan 2006 20:18 GMT3
Last Wednesday evening, one of my neighbours found a kitten in thier back
yard, and promptly handed it 'over the fence' to me. For some reason the
neighbour thought it was mine :s
On inspection it was a female, about 8 weeks, very thin and
Miniature black Siamese07 Jan 2006 21:16 GMT4
She has a big meow, a big appetite and is very friendly.
When I heard her meow this morning I thought she was one of the
two black males that have been around here off & on for several
months so I put some food out and in a minute this tiny little
Does Your Cat Eat Grass?07 Jan 2006 18:22 GMT12
For Xmas I got one of these Chia things in which you plant grass seeds. This
isn't the "Chia Pet" business. It's a little pot with Sylvester and Tweety
on it in which you put soil and grass seed. Cats are supposed to love it.
So far this has been one big dud with Isis, my 7 year ...
does your cat smack his lips when hungry?07 Jan 2006 14:56 GMT2
my cat smacks his lips to tell me when his food bowl is empty and he
needs a refill.
male cat behavior06 Jan 2006 17:59 GMT1
Does anyone know why a male cat ,11 years old, typically one who goes
outside most of the year, decide to begin urinating in ONE spot within a
house (NOT in or near his box) during Winter months (maybe Winter, and being
unable to go out nearly as much as he used to as a result) ?
smart cats06 Jan 2006 10:41 GMT6
I have often heard about clever cats, who could open doors by jumping on
handle, pee in toilet bowls, etc. I have two reasonably intelligent cats,
who, however, don't do anything out of the ordinary. They eat, sleep, play,
purr, chase small animals...  but otherwise nothing to be ...
Best way to move with cats06 Jan 2006 10:26 GMT10
We will be moving to a new house about 5 miles away and we have 2 cats.
What would be the best way to introduce them to the our new home ?  My
wife thinks we should take them both to the new home for about 1 hour a
day for perhaps 3 to 5 days, after we have moved some of the ...
People who feed other peoples pets06 Jan 2006 10:21 GMT48
Maybe this sounds a little harsh but don't you think these people
should all be shot? It really pisses me off big time.
Even if it wasn't someone elses pet and was a stray, you still should
not be feeding it. Feeding pets that don't belong to you causes them
Biting06 Jan 2006 10:16 GMT1
We rescued a kitten that is about 6 months and although really cute
she is a constant biter. She can be gentle but will bite and scratch
at a moment's notice even after we've had her for about 9 months.
She's indoors only and is with another 10 year old very gentle cat.
Beware of Poinsettias!!!06 Jan 2006 06:24 GMT10
Hello.  Before I brought my first poinsettia home a few weeks ago I had been
avoiding them for years because I had heard they were toxic to cats.  I went
to many web sites last month and even on-line vets have said that poinsettias
are only mildly toxic to cats, if at all.  Tell ...
Having a cat in a bachelor apartment and declawing06 Jan 2006 04:50 GMT12
I'm wondering what people's thoughts are on having a cat in a bachelor
apartment. I'm thinking of getting one but I wouldn't want it to be
hard on the cat, being in such a small space. The room is about 13'x15'
with a small kitchinette, hallway, and bathroom. It's really not that
