Is it wise?12 Dec 2005 09:46 GMT6
A friend of mine has to get rid of two budgies because she has developed an
allergy against them.
I'd love to take them because I just *love* pets. And these ones are not too
expensive.

Have you seen "Pet Keeping"12 Dec 2005 02:50 GMT1
I really like "The Dog Whisperer" but "Pet Keeping" is
even better, different. The guy, Marc, has birds and ferrets
and dogs and cats and other animals all playing with each
other while he talks about animal related subjects ... at least
Ok, so who admits to having converstions with their cat?12 Dec 2005 02:06 GMT10
Ok, I admit it, I have full length conversations with my cat. I'm really a
dog person at heart, but I'd never have a dog in an apartment, so I've
turned my life over to my cat.
Every morning, it's the same thing. She whimpers and jumps at my bedroom
Electricity-assisted winter shelter11 Dec 2005 17:49 GMT15
I appreciate all advice I got re a small winter shelter for a
semi-homeless cat just in case the weather turns nasty during the 2-3
weeks we would be gone in Dec-Jan.
I found a room that is unheated but otherwise completely protected from

I've got two new kittens with six claws on the front paws.  Does anybody
want them?  The first four cats hate them.  Send questions/comments to

Cats in Heat 10 Dec 2005 15:32 GMT4
I was wondering if anyone knew if it is more expensive to get your cat
spayed after they have gone through their first heat?  I have asked a couple
people and they all seem to have different answers?  Also, is there anything
you can do for your kitty when she is in heat..
Cat still tearing its fur out even after flea eradication10 Dec 2005 15:02 GMT20
Even after regular flea-shampooing and the use of a flea collar, and
long after any fleas have been seen, my cat is still leaving tufts of
fur around and I can see some almost bald patches where he has been
chewing his fur off on his sides and back. He has even romoved skin in

Wow my cat figured out how to open doors10 Dec 2005 02:19 GMT5
Pretty amazing. I never trained him to open doors but I did notice that
he kept watching me open the room doors then one day I was watching TV
in the livingroom and I hear a door creaking open. I thought it was a
burglar until I saw a sillouette of a cat running to the kitchen
Cat throwing up with new carpet smell09 Dec 2005 23:14 GMT8
We just got new carpeting in the family room today and the minute the
cat came downstairs she threw up. (Luckily on the tile and not on the
carpet) Just a few minutes ago she threw up again. Is this common and
what's the best way to prevent this. I assume we'll just have to wait
kitten not urinating or moving bowels09 Dec 2005 17:54 GMT7
I am concerned about a kitten that I just picked up friday night and today
is sunday morning, I was told that it was checked for worms and paresites
and was negative on both, in fact I have the paperwork to prove it. But
here is the question it's 6 weeks old and has been eating and ...
Cat Food Recommendations09 Dec 2005 16:29 GMT13
We have 5 cats ages 1 year to 13 years.  We would like to improve the quality
of their diet.  They currently eat both canned food and dry food, which I
would like to continue.  They definitely prefer chunky canned food over
chopped or ground smooth food.
Yes   R.I.P. --- long09 Dec 2005 14:04 GMT3
Some of you may remember my post about my kitty Yes & his biting me.
First let me tell you I loved him very much.  Even though I had to put
him to sleep. I did not do it because he had bitten me, as a lot of
people had suggested i do.  I ended up with a partial crippled hand & I
