| how to entertain cats? | 16 Oct 2005 04:11 GMT | 1 |
I have two 3 year old males who seem rather bored in my condo apt. They can't go outside and ignore all the Petco toys I bought them. Do cats need entertainment? If so, what?

| Age question | 16 Oct 2005 03:26 GMT | 8 |
I've heard that the best age to get a new cat would be about 6 months old rather than a kitten because the cats personality will be known by then & you'll know exactly what your getting. Is this true? We like the idea of a small kitten but hate to find out later we made a bad ...

Frontline uses Fipronil, Advantage uses Imidocloprid for control of fleas. She's got white flecks and losing fur, and seems to be losing some weight. Fleas too. Outdoor cat. I'm sure the bites are causing a bit of anemia, some cats have more serious reactions to

| Direct hit! | 15 Oct 2005 20:26 GMT | 6 |
One of my housemates continually feeds a weird cat that miaows almost non-stop. He lets it in, feeds it strips of ham (which it ravenously attacks him for), and then lets it hang around for a while. I hate the bastard thing. It claws the carpet, the chairs and when the

| teaching kittens to use scratching post | 15 Oct 2005 19:49 GMT | 7 |
On behalf of a very fussy guy who's getting 2 kittens, what is the most effective way to train a kitten to use the post instead of the couch? These will be indoor/outdoor cats so declawing is out of the question. I've read up on most of the tricks, i.e. spritzing with water pistol,

Recently my husband was deployed and I believe that our cat misses him. She has become more of a loving cat. She will come and curl up with me more now then what she would do before. My husband would play rough with her and I try to make up for it. It just seems like her behavior ...

| She's not eating! To Vet or not to Vet? | 14 Oct 2005 04:56 GMT | 4 |
My cat is fussy eater, but when it's something she likes, she has no problems. If its something she doesn't like it, she will eventually at least eat some of it due to hunger. That's not the case these last two days. She hasn't aten any of her canned nor her dry food. I'm wondering ...

My 14 year-old cat has been diagnosed with progressive degenerative arthritis, and the vet has given me Metacam (NSAID) to use. Apparently, Metacam has only been cleared to use with dogs, but some vets are now prescribing it for cats. I have been told to use it only twice a ...
