| Maine Coon problem | 19 Oct 2005 19:20 GMT | 5 |
My neutered male Maine Coon, Kitten, is 12 years old. He is not a big cat, maybe 10 or 12 pounds. He has always been a runt, but of good character, i.e., friendly, affectionate, etc. Of late, the last 6 months or so, he has lost some weight and you can feel his bones when you ...

| cats more intelligent than dogs? | 18 Oct 2005 21:43 GMT | 8 |
Are cats really more intelligent than dogs? My cat's don't seem to be smart enough to open a cupboard with food hidden inside, or to work a doorknob.

| Caring for a stray (1): how to tell if she is hungry or has eaten? | 18 Oct 2005 18:52 GMT | 26 |
With no experience in pets, I started feeding a stray/homeless cat. Initially, I later learned, she was fed by a nighbor, but felt harrassed by his cat and children. So she would eat there but climb one floor up to my porch to relax. It is quieter, sunnier, higher up here.

| Feeding a homeless: caloric needs of senior cats? | 18 Oct 2005 07:23 GMT | 5 |
In addition to a young adult (around 2 yrs) I have fed for around a year, I'll probably start feeding a new one I just met. I don't know cat breeds, but the new one too is small (maybe 6-7 lbs, about a lb more than the other one). One neighbor I talked to termed her Siamaese,

| Declawing challenge | 18 Oct 2005 05:52 GMT | 43 |
I''ve seen tons of posts on these cat groups about declawing. I would prefer to not declaw my new kitten, so i'm issuing this challenge. I challenge anyone out there to come up with a way to not get this kitten declawed and still have hands/feet/etc. left

| Good use of kitty smarts | 18 Oct 2005 00:45 GMT | 14 |
I just wanted to share a quick story. My cat's favorite way to bug me is to open all the cabinets and closets in the house. She does this daily and I close them when I come home :) A few weeks ago I bought "the bubbler" which is sort of large. It takes up the space where I ...

| New Kitten won't stop biting | 17 Oct 2005 06:12 GMT | 11 |
HI can anyone give me some advice on how to stop my 13 week old kitten from biting my hand when she is playful? I received her as a birthday gift when she was just over six weeks and she never used to have this bad habit until about 2-3 days of settling in.

| cat not using litter box | 16 Oct 2005 17:36 GMT | 2 |
I have 2 cats and one I recently adopted back in mid July. She has been using the litter box up until 2 weeks ago. I am finding feces under the bed, in corners, and under the entertainment center. She is a 5 1/2 year old silver persian. There are 2 litter boxes in the house and ...

| time to part with our cat...euthanasia? | 16 Oct 2005 17:24 GMT | 27 |
We have two cats, one 9, other 5. We recently moved to Massachusetts and the older cat seemed okay for a month or two but now is using the entire house as a toilet (not grooming either). With a 20 month child and desire to have another it has come to the
