My wife and I do rescues and find homes for kittens.
Last week we took in 8 babies from a freind's yard.

Friend has two cats now - one diabetic, the other young and playful.
She thinks that getting a third cat would divert the attention of the
playful one away from the sickly one, plus be there as a cat-friend
when the diabetic one eventually dies.  Some have advised her against
