Potential cat owner - advice needed22 May 2005 08:37 GMT3
We want to get a cat.
My wife and I both work. I work 9.00 - 18.00, my wife works 9.00 - 15:30.
Would a new cat cope with being left alone weekdays 9 until 3? We would like
to get a kitten, but would like some advice on what would and would not be
Just like Catnip21 May 2005 22:47 GMT7
I recently read of a plant that I can grow in my garden that cats react to
just like Catnip.  I can't remember the name of it.  Does anyone know what
it is?
Boyfriends and cats - can they coexist?21 May 2005 21:52 GMT4
A bit of a delicate matter to discuss: Shnookums has been my roommate
for all of my adult life. And she's a fuzzy girl. So when a new friend
comes over to play for the night, and it's sometimes unexpected,
Shnookums not only gets jealous that she's not the center of attention

Are there any kind of beetles or bugs that would be toxic to cats when
ingested?

Rexie's Latest Kill21 May 2005 07:31 GMT17
Rexie had already graduated from toilet tissue to paper towels, but since we
got a heavy PT holder, he has to do his 'kills' up on the sink during the
night! Check these out. I put just the 4 URLs up so you don't have to go
thru the whole album!

First time cat owner with sick cat21 May 2005 07:15 GMT5
My cat Orson is a very loving and "people" cat if you will.  For the past
couple of weeks though, he is sporadically acting weird.  For instance, 2
weeks ago he puked twice in a weekend.  His nose and bottom of paws were
bright red and when we would try to go near him, he would hiss ...
Frustrated Mom21 May 2005 07:14 GMT4
My Cat is 16 months old, she gave birth to 5 healthy kittens a month ago.
Kittens are fine and mum looks after them well, but mum seems very
frustrated. She keeps making funny meows and is always wondering and looking
around. She seems to want something.
Signs of cats in heat.21 May 2005 05:36 GMT25
Hi. We have 2 female kittens about 7 months old. They are  making
sounds like crying more than meowing and get down on their stomachs
when you approcach them and continue meowing and crying. They do this
even more if you pet them and they also raise their backends as you
Cat being beaten up on by other cat - what can I do?20 May 2005 23:20 GMT9
My cat Lenny has just come home covered in vicious scratches and cuts.
I've only just taken him to the vet the other day for a puncture near
his eye.  This other cat is bigger than Lenny and beating him to a pulp.
Lenny is used to being an inside/outside cat and he likes to ...
cats and citrus20 May 2005 21:07 GMT11
Do cats really hate citrus?  I got a citrus-based home fragrance oil that
smells very nice and fresh.  My husband and I both enjoy it, but I seem to
remember that cats don't like it.  Is this true?  I live in a small
one-bedroom apartment in NYC.  My cats haven't flipped out or ...

cat behavior - suckels20 May 2005 01:44 GMT3
I just adopted a 1.5 yr old female cat who was tossed around to several
different homes all across the country. I've never had such a cat
before. She follows you around all over the house and never wants you
out of her sight. When I leave for work in the morning she cries at the
