How to get a cat to drink more water?03 Feb 2005 20:28 GMT19
My Charlie has just been diagnosed with having crystals in urine, so is
advised to drink more water (+special food). Since he doesn;t really drink
much, and apart from mixing water in his dry food-which he is getting used
to, how else do you give your cats water?
Broken Tail?03 Feb 2005 18:12 GMT31
I am new to this newsgroup, so forgive me if you have discussed this before.
My cat appears to have a broken tail.  He came home yesterday, and the last
three inches of his tail is just hanging limp.  I palpated the area and he
seems to have a great amount of pain, but only when ...
Question: Trimming Maine Coon Fur?03 Feb 2005 05:54 GMT2
Is it necessary or advisable to keep the hair trimmed short
around the anal area of a Maine Coon in-door house cat?
This would be assuming that this procedure might lessen the
possibility of fresh litter box feces to "stick" around that
What to expect after spaying?02 Feb 2005 23:14 GMT4
Oreo is going in to see the vet tomorrow, and coming back home an
"it".  She's about 7 months old now, but she seems so little, maybe 4
or 5 pounds.  The vet isn't too concerned, though.  She's healthy as
can be, just small.
I have a question?02 Feb 2005 07:08 GMT3
I had my 7 month old female cat fixed today...since I've brought her home
she seems to be doing fine but her hips seemed to have enlarged! She looks
like a poor kitty who hasn't had food in weeks..her sides are sunk in and
her back leg bones seem like they are overly wide. I ...

Relieving Boredom for Dogs & Cats
Decades ago, zoo animals had little to do but pace and eat, resulting
in a host of physical and behavioral problems, including weight
disorders, unpredictable aggression, antisocial behavior, poor
Urgent: Can a sexually mature male mate with a sexually immature female?02 Feb 2005 06:51 GMT9
I have two kittens that will hit the 6 month old mark in a couple
days.  Tonight, the male, Sachi, has begun to grab a hold of Hana's
(the female) nape.  Is this mating behavior by Sachi?  It sure looks
like it, but Hana is not in heat.  Is it okay to let them stay
Kitten02 Feb 2005 05:33 GMT2
Hi folks, I recently acquired a beautiful little kitten, however I do not
know the age (I think 3 or 4 months) or gender of my kitten, maybe someone
could give me some clues.  Joanne
Strange colour01 Feb 2005 20:22 GMT8
Today, at my friends, a farmer, I saw a most beautiful cat!
Imagine a Siamese, but the points are grey tabby (it is a cross between a
Siam and a tabby). What would you call this unusual colour?

Depressed appetite with illness01 Feb 2005 17:40 GMT3
I have a cat with a serious illness (pneumonia and a yeast infection of the
lungs complicated by feline asthma) who is on medication to treat the
pneumonia (antibiotics) and yeast infection (itraconozol) and asthma
(albuterol and flovent).  Not surprisingly, all these meds are ...
Chewbacca01 Feb 2005 14:04 GMT4
I have an eight-month old tom named Binks, a big bruiser, and a slightly
younger and smaller female from a different litter named Buffy, both fixed,
both adopted at a very early age and ketp indoors,  both seem to get along
fine.
Cat Screaming Every Night...01 Feb 2005 13:49 GMT13
So, I have this grey tabby, he is cool, I like him.
Problem is that every night, between 11pm and 4am, he goes nuts... At random
intervals he just starts howling at the walls. It does not take place at any
particular spot, nor does it happen at the same time each night.

They sell a mat that you put in front of the litter box to help get the
litter off the paws.  Does it work well?
