Did she barf or what?31 Dec 2004 18:44 GMT3
I came home yesterday and found a slight mess on the bathroom floor -
not near the litter box.  It didn't look like normal poop - much
lighter brown....it kind of looked like it might have been barf as it
actually resembled partially digested canned food.  She had canned
Cats and bones31 Dec 2004 16:49 GMT4
I know (at leats I've always been told) never give a cat a chicken
bone. How about big beef bones, like from a rib roast? I'm having a
roast for Christmas and when I cut the bones off, I was thinking of
giving them to my furbabies to lick and nibble on. Can it do them any
very soft stools31 Dec 2004 14:29 GMT9
Some weeks ago my adult Maine Coon started having very soft stools. The
consistency of pudding. Not excessive, just once a day like always. She
looks good, acts good, plays, eats, gives loves, but since it was a
change I wanted it checked out. The vet didn't find anything wrong but
hepatic lipidosis31 Dec 2004 01:44 GMT7
Our cat was diagnosed with fatty liver 10 days ago... since then we've
been force feeding her, and had her hospitalised ocassionally, but
there is no sign of improvement. She has no interest in eating, and is
extremely jaundiced. Our vet says that after 10 days without
PURRS PLEASE30 Dec 2004 17:26 GMT2
I am aware that I am not on the best side of most on this board because my cat got pregnant but I want to ask for some major purrs for my son. Danny told me yestetday that his Unit is getting sent over to Iraq. He has to report to Fort Dix in 3 days. I am so scared for him to go ...
jumping on table30 Dec 2004 15:27 GMT11
I allow my cat to be on the table or counter (or my bed) if she
wishes, but my dh, who does not care for cats, whines and does not
like the cat to be on anything but the floor. He says she walks where
she uses the bathroom so it's nasty. It's not like I don't wash the
Ringworm times three30 Dec 2004 01:37 GMT9
I hauled Avery and Dandy to the vet today - Fleagor was supposed to go
too, but he couldn't be found ... fortunately I had some scrapings
from him (I have no idea why I kept them) - all three have ringworm,
and a couple more may be coming down with it.  It's not extensive on
Calico cats30 Dec 2004 01:31 GMT14
I've just come across the term "calico cat". I've done a quick web search
and I think it's a synonym for tortoiseshell. Is that right?

Confessions of a reformed cat hater.29 Dec 2004 19:11 GMT4
I lurk here occasionally and enjoy reading about all of your friends. I'd like to
share a story about me and some of my my friends.
I was raised to despise cats. Not for any particular reason, you were just supposed
to not like cats. As I grew up I turned into a closet cat ...
Pheniox29 Dec 2004 15:31 GMT8
For the ones who are interested, Pheniox had another vet appointment yesterday. Dr. Grenoble says that we can expect 3 kittens, that is all she is carring. He says they will be here around first week of Febuary. Sasha has started trying to nurse pheniox again, what makes it so ...
Cats and their passing29 Dec 2004 05:59 GMT3
One of my cats was hit by a car. It is too hard to
talk about. Have any of you learned anything about
death, our own mortality or had any religious experience
while going through this?
hairball question (frequency)29 Dec 2004 04:51 GMT3
My long hair male, whom I comb daily, deposited a rather large one on
the carpet yesterday.  I had decided to keep track of this happening -
prior one was October 6th.  Is this about average?  Am I doing as much
as I can to prevent these?  At present, I am not using any special
Over grooming29 Dec 2004 04:50 GMT6
my cat is not only licking, but pulling her fur out, of back thighs,
tail. Why, what can I do. I tried some kinda oil in her food, didn't
seem to help. Help?
Cats back sensitive?29 Dec 2004 01:12 GMT2
I've noticed that as much as my cats like to have their backs rubbed
and brushed, as soon as I get to the lower part of their backs, almost
all of them seem to get annoyed. Anyone else notice this, and does
anyone know why? Thanks.
