Acoming an Outdoor Cat10 Oct 2004 04:46 GMT11
I have a semi-indoor cat. I want to make her an outdoor one so I don't
have to worry about her escaping through any of the many exits(patio
doors, conservatory, etc). I live in a cat-friendly neighbourhood but
my cat six months old has only been out on a liesh thrice a week on
Been reading the group, decided to start posting (little long)09 Oct 2004 23:11 GMT1
I'm Mike, in a little place called Chalybeate Ky, near Mammoth Cave.
Although I do pay the mortgage here, there is a band of feline outlaws that
live here that won't let me forget who really runs the place.

Teeth Cleaning?09 Oct 2004 18:43 GMT4
My vet just sent out a notice about dental care and teeth cleaning. Do you
guys ever have your cat's teeth cleaned? I would imagine they can get
cavities just like us, no?
I've dropped a bundle on my teeth. I suppose I should have Isis' teeth
Advice on stopping stroppy cat cub scratching a door09 Oct 2004 18:13 GMT3
Quite often (and increasingly), when we are in a room with the cat
cubs shut out, Elijah scratches at the door until he's let in. Calling,
"Elijah! NO!" used to work for a few minutes, now it works for a second or
two. He never does it while there's anyone on the other side to ...
how to train a cat to use a cat door?09 Oct 2004 07:54 GMT2
we have two cats which are about 1½ years old now, both with totally
different personalities. They love our yard and the outdoors. So we put in
a cat door in one of our walls, the type with a plastic door which they
can open in either direction by pushing against it, so they can ...
Anti-Social Cat(Probably stupid question)08 Oct 2004 21:29 GMT1
Hiya,I am a newbie to this group  *waves a shy wave*
I am worried about my anti-social cat.  Rhiannon (just over 2 years old)
is very large (almost 13 lbs.) and just lays around.  She will never let my
husband or I, without coaxing) love or pet her and does not even ...
Bringing in a new cat07 Oct 2004 23:04 GMT1
I have a potential dilemna and need some advice. My wife's elderly
aunt is going in the hospital, and asked us to take care of her cat.
He's an older make, indoor/outdoor baby. We have nine cats of our own.
Yes, nine. All neighborhood strays we've taken in over the past six
Something to relax cat while I groom07 Oct 2004 15:07 GMT1
I need to cut my Himalayn's hair. She is knotted up really bad. I didn't
know it before it was too late... cause she isn't a lap cat and doesn't even
like to be bothered, etc. So, one day when I was touching her, I found
terrible big... really big knots. They are under the hair. ...

Kidney Problems07 Oct 2004 01:32 GMT5
I'm having a difficult time getting a clear cut answer out of my vet
as to what exactly is wrong with my cat, and what I should do.  Maybe
she's on her last leg, and the doctor and nurses are too nervous to
give me a clear cut answer.  So can you tell me bluntly what's up?
Teeth Cleaning07 Oct 2004 01:05 GMT13
I need some feedback.  I took my cat to the vet last week for his check-up.
He is a very cute black and white--Romeo.   And he is a lover!  The vet
wants him back to clean his teeth.  Do you think that it's worth putting him
under sedation to do this??   What are others thoughts? ...
TV aware cat06 Oct 2004 23:12 GMT8
I have 2 neutered cats nearly 8 year old (brothers) that I got from the
pound.
4 days ago one of them (Jerry) started to take a particular interest in the
TV. The TV is not new & is often on at night, so there is no new situation.
Cat drinking fountains?06 Oct 2004 22:45 GMT11
I have 2 cats who are both coming up on 15 years old.  The Vet has
suggested that I try to get them to drink more water.  She suggested
possibly getting one of the cat drinking fountains that you see in pet
stores now.  Does anybodty have any experience with these?  Do they
