What the hell is wrong with this cat?26 Aug 2004 12:33 GMT12
I live on a farm, and there are no neighbors in sight.  So, when I got
to pee, I dont go to the house, I just piss wherever I am.  I have a
farm cat, a neutered male.  Every damn time I start to piss, this cat
has to get in front of me, forcing me to rotate the whole time I am

I'm trying this out, but one of my cat cubs thinks it's for playing in,
and the other's trying to eat it. Any clues about how to get them used to
it?

Cats and hardwood floors?26 Aug 2004 05:18 GMT9
We're in the process of buying a new townhouse and I want to get
hardwood floors.  We have 2 cats and both still have their back claws.
Do we have to worry about them scratching the hell out of the floors or
should they be ok?

How many is too many?26 Aug 2004 03:08 GMT8
This spring we had 4 cats of our own, then found a hungry stray with a
very large belly... two weeks later, we had kittens!
Unfortunately one kitten died at 7 weeks. We found a great home for
another one. We find ourselves left with the mom (who we planned to keep
Cats and doorjams26 Aug 2004 02:39 GMT9
I posted earlier about hardwood floors and cats and I appreciate all the
responses.  However, I have another question.  Our cats are both front
declawed and one of them is constantly climbing the doorjams in our
apartment.  He is putting huge scratches in them and they look

I'm hoping someone can help me.  We recently adopted a 2 month old kitten

We have been trying to introduce our kitten to our resident cat and in some
ways things have been going well.  Our cat is comfortable with the scent of

11 year old female cat in heat25 Aug 2004 10:45 GMT1
I have a 11 year old female, and since there were not vets in my area
when I got her 11 years ago, I didn't get her spayed.
She has been in heat on and off for a while now. We moved to a city a
year back and I contacted a vet about getting her spayed. The vet said

I have a female cat (Jodie) who is 2 years old now. We got her spayed
when she was about 8 months old.
I have another spayed female cat (5 yrs old) and a neutered male cat
(5 yrs old). They have all been friendly / tolerant to each other.
Shave the kitty!25 Aug 2004 04:01 GMT14
Ok, so I've decided to shave two of my kitties.
Problem is - they are not declawed (indoor only), never would I do such a
horrid thing to them! They never scratched or hurt anybody, they don't
destroy the house (other then the couch but I allowed them to do that in the
Adopted kitten from shelter has high fever, will not eat25 Aug 2004 01:24 GMT17
Hello everyone--
Last Friday, August 13, my husband and I adopted an 8 month female
kitten/cat from the local Petsmart.  She is a real doll, is solid
black, and weighs 5 lbs.  Her history is as follows:
Henry is hiding under the sofa!25 Aug 2004 01:03 GMT8
We got our new cat Henry, 7 years old, from a rescue centre the other day.
I have been brought up with cats and I know that it's common for newcomers
to dash for the nearest dark corner, or perhaps hide under the nearest bed
or cupboard, until they feel safe enough to explore.

Scale to Weigh my Cats - recommendation?24 Aug 2004 16:31 GMT20
I want to weigh my cats periodically.  I have been shopping online for
baby scales and pet scales.  I have found mechanical scales for $50 to
$60, and digital / electronic scales for $120 to $150 and up.  My main
concern is getting an accurate weight while my cat is moving around on
