out-of-hand cat wrestling06 May 2004 03:21 GMT10
OK, I'm trying to figure out if I have a problem or not.
I have two unrelated neutered male cats, each about a year old, that i
adopted from the local shelter about two months ago. both domestic
shorthairs, nothing exotic. they seem to get along fine, and haven't had
Supporting PETA is supporting Terror06 May 2004 01:37 GMT26
If you support Peta, if you believe niavely these are people who are
interested in saving animals from cruelty, you are dangerously niave. These
people place the rights of your cookable feline above those of your
children. This is not where they stop eoither. They also have active
How do I stop cats peeing all over my garden?06 May 2004 00:40 GMT1
My wife and I live in the countryside and have a fairly
large garden.   We don't keep any pets or animals but there
are several cats belonging to neighbours who regularly pee
all over our garden.   I assume this is some sort of

Socializing my kitties05 May 2004 20:12 GMT13
Hi, I just joined this newsgroup.  I have 2 cats, they are 8 months old.  If
anyone comes over they hide under my bed and won't come out.  And if they
happen to come out for a sec and see my company the one will run away, the
other will growl and hiss... what is the best way to ...
My cat getting attention05 May 2004 19:25 GMT1
She will jump on the bed, stick her head
under my hand to scratched. If I'm asleep
or not paying attention she will tap me on
the face and lightly claw my hand to pull

I have a siamese approx 17 years old.  She is extremely docile and
loving.  Lately, I notice that when she comes around (after her power
nap) she will lift one of her front paws for a few seconds.  Has
anyone observed this with your cats?
scratch post...carpet or wood?05 May 2004 19:07 GMT2
I see these very expensive scratching posts at Petsmart.
I was thinking of making my own.
Does carpet really provide a scratching post for the cats?  i thought they
do that to sharpen and clean their claws.  Would a soft wooden post be a
itchy bottom05 May 2004 19:01 GMT2
My 14-year-old female cat seems to have developed an itchy butt. She
scratches it by sitting on the bed and dragging herself with her front paws.
There's some matted fur back there and I'm going to have her groomed later
today, but am wondering if there's anything else I can do ...

Cat who still kneads05 May 2004 18:43 GMT12
My youngest cat when we got her she was considered the runt of the litter.
They told us she was 6 weeks but we're not really sure they were telling us
the truth.  She wasn't much bigger than a newborn. Anyways my moyher
crocheted me this huge blanket which both our cats love to lay ...

Last year on 14 May we lost Rudy at 21 years, 1 month and 14 days. Today we
lost his brother Stasher. Stasher was 22 years 1 month and 4 days. Maybe
there's a "Cat Heaven" where they will meet again. May is a bad month.
long-haired cats shedding problems05 May 2004 17:04 GMT5
I have a wonderful 2 and a half year old long-haired cat (some people
have called her a medium-haired cat, but she certainly has a lot of
it!)  Her shedding is becoming a problem, as fur is EVERYWHERE and
hairballs have increased.  I try and brush (matting isn't really a
Pests posting lies about me or using my name05 May 2004 16:41 GMT1
Be aware there are pathetic pests - most of them anonymous cowards - posting
lies about me to this group.  Believe nothing they post about me.  Because I
do not read this group, I refute them with this post.
