Maine Coon Term to be changed in CA10 Feb 2004 22:15 GMT13
Due to Racial concerns regarding the term "Coon" In California there are
plans to propose a proposition to drop the term "Coon" and use a different
word for the name of the breed. The new term will be announced nextweek.
California is a stupid state.
Laser surgery for neutering female cat10 Feb 2004 21:34 GMT6
My local vet has and pushes laser surgery-no big deal but it is $35
extra for laser vs standard sterilazation surgery.  He says it causes
less trauma and they heal faster.  Anybody got any experince here-is
this just another way for the vet to get further into my wallet or
aggressive behavior...please help10 Feb 2004 19:29 GMT16
We have 14 cats. All male and all neutered. Everyone gets along but one cat
(Maurice). He is about 4 years old and was born here (his mom was a pregnant
stray we took in).
When we got our last cat Maurice's behavior changed. He used to be docile
Best Cat Repellent10 Feb 2004 17:49 GMT24
I have some new, expensive high-end stereo speakers that I don't want to see
used as scratching posts by our 3 indoor furry cat children.  What is the
best, most effective cat repellent to spray on the floor around the speakers
to guarantee the safety of the new speakers?
housecat concerns10 Feb 2004 03:26 GMT12
Our full-grown male, named Blue, a silver tabby we believe, has been going
to the litterbox quite frequently the past couple days, but without any
apparent relief.  We're concerned enough to schedule a vet visit for the
work week, but it's still sunday and I'm a tad curious what ...

I gave Isis a small taste of canned spinach. She didn't like the spinach but

Tasha's gone09 Feb 2004 18:53 GMT12
I don't know if this is an appropriate place to talk about this, ,,, Tasha
died today. A week ago I had no idea anything was wrong. She had apparently
been getting skinny so slowly that I didn't notice right a way.Noticed
Thursday and got her to the vet Friday. Drained  a lot of ...
Cat with Mild Kidney Failure09 Feb 2004 17:41 GMT5
My 8yo cat has been urinating on the carpet for over a year now. He had a
couple of urinalysis, some came back showing infection, so he has been on
anti-biotics off and on.  He peed on our bed a couple of times so we took
him to  a new vet. They did an x-ray and discovered he had 3 ...

Gawd, that stinks09 Feb 2004 02:42 GMT6
Hi all. I know this topic has probably been beaten to death, and I've even
gotten some advice on the subject from here, but nothing has worked.
One of our cats has been constantly peeing on the carpet in our dining room,
and now the whole apartment smells like cat pee. We can see ...
bonding pets when owners die?09 Feb 2004 00:30 GMT2
I've read that certain breeds of pets tend to bond with the first
person they choose when they are born, but what happens to the pet if the
original owner dies or gives the pet away?  Does the 2nd owner not get as
much affection or respect as the original one did?  Has ...
Trouble with Cats08 Feb 2004 23:56 GMT8
My daughter is away at college, and her two cats have started going to the
bathroom on the carpet etc. One is older the other is about 4-5 years old.
They are wrecking our house and must go. What are our options for adoption
etc? We are in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
Can anyone help??08 Feb 2004 22:49 GMT2
I am so confused, I don't know much about cat mating rituals.
Is there anyone that can tell me the whole process of this situation.
The reason behind all my confusion, is that I had both of my cats fixed at 8
months old (I think).
Cat Has Allergies?08 Feb 2004 17:31 GMT3
My newly adopted cat (less than 9 months old) has been sneezing for
the last day or so about 2 or 3 times per hour. I adopted him last
Friday.
My question: Can cats get colds allergies like people do? Or could he
