Different flea problem09 Jul 2003 21:13 GMT12
I just got a new kitten who is unfortunately covered in fleas. She
hasn't been in the house so unless they've managed to get on one of
the family members (which we've been doing our best to prevent) the
house should be clean enough. The main problem is trying to find a way
Frustration peeing - two cases discussed09 Jul 2003 16:24 GMT5
While preparing this posting I remembered a story relayed to me by an
aunt while I still was a young boy. She happened to witness this,
without being actually involved :-), in the Wuppertal Zoo, Germany.

Hi!!!  I have just received a new kitty!!!  Her name is Hailey and we think
she is a maine coon (longhaired, grey, and gorgeous!!)  I'm wondering if
anyone has any secrets to keeping this coat clean?  I thought about using
detangling spray that you use on kids when I groom her... ...
Purrs for Andy09 Jul 2003 04:22 GMT1
My male cat Andy has been suffering with minor diarrhea since Saturday.
I took him to the vet today, they did a fecal exam and found nothing
amiss there. So they gave me Metronidazole to give him. They also told
me to put him strictly on dry food until the diarrhea goes away.

cat teeth and gum problems08 Jul 2003 10:34 GMT1
I strongly reccommend the new Iams dry cat food.  I have had several cats in
the last many years.  Three of them lived to 13 to 15 years of age -- and
are still alive.  The vets have commented over this period of time that they
have excellent teeth and gums.
food perscription alternative08 Jul 2003 08:08 GMT1
My cat has recently been diagnosed with crystals the vet has prescribed
hills science diet  C/D-S.  My question is;  are there any other cat foods
or foods available that would have the same effect.  Our cat is dear to our
home however this C/D-S requires a prescription with a visit ...
Soft Claws08 Jul 2003 02:37 GMT1
Has anyone used them?  How old does she have to be to apply them?  How often
do they fall off?  if you have a long haired cat, does the glue get stuck on
the nail?
Dog owners get OK for malpractice suit against vet08 Jul 2003 01:13 GMT2
Another precedence being set?  I think so, and I think it is about
time.  Pets no longer being considered as chattel?  It is how it
should be.  The vet bills are high enough to rival those of human
patients; they should be treated the same.
Traveling With My Cat..08 Jul 2003 00:57 GMT1

anti-social cats07 Jul 2003 22:35 GMT2
I wonder if anyone has a suggestion on how I can get 2 cats to interact with
us socialy.  These are cats we got last April from a home with similar age
children (a 3 year old and a newborn). I have had a number of cats in my
life, but never had any that were less interested in ...
When is it time? (Kinda long)07 Jul 2003 13:55 GMT1
I have to decide whether or not to put down my 19-year-old
cat, Bubba. His littermate, Dufus, died of natural causes in
February. Until then, Bubba seemed fine, but now he's getting
thinner and weaker day by day. He eats and drinks as much as
One very dead and very stupid rat07 Jul 2003 12:21 GMT1
A neighbor of mine with birds in a back screen encloser, always
complained about being overrun with rats to me, and kept asking me if
I had a similar problem.
I told him that my 5 cats had access to my back screen in area and it
