Outside cat is a real yowler31 Jul 2009 13:41 GMT7
I started giving this outside kitty some food - mostly leftovers from
my brood. Cute, predominantly black with the tips of his front feet
white and white socks on the rear legs. The chest and underside of his
throat is white and it carries up to his mouth so the whole face is
Kitten umbilical hernia31 Jul 2009 07:48 GMT5
I've seen plenty of these hernias in puppies, having worked for a vet for
many years (no longer).  Now I have a 3 month old kitten with one (born with
it) and it appears to be enlarging slowly.  Usually I can push the bowels
back in easily but now its getting a bit more difficult ...

Looking for small bit senior dry cat food.29 Jul 2009 13:04 GMT7
I have an 19 / 20 year old kitty named "Kitty" that over the years has
lost most of her teeth.  A lot of them were gone when I took her in at
4 / 5 years old with just the roots left.
Thing is that she likes her dry food but the ones I tryed for senior
Sub-q fluids expiration question29 Jul 2009 05:18 GMT4
Is it ok to use the same bag for more than 5 weeks? Or should I have
stopped using it weeks ago? Someone told me that they go bad after
10-14 days. The vet never said anything about that. I just wanted to
know in case the vet says something different when I call to ask about
how many meals?27 Jul 2009 16:39 GMT31
How many times a day do you all feed your cats?  My cats seem to be less
interested in breakfast but down their dinner with no problem.  They get a
5.5 oz can per meal and some dry.  They are 6 and 2, very active and have
great check-ups.
When do you "call it a day"?26 Jul 2009 20:07 GMT63
I would like to know various people's views on when one should "call it
a day" when a beloved pet has a very serious illness.
If increasing part of the medication to maximum level will give the
animal good quality of life for a large part of the day though in the
Long-term Consequences of Starvation26 Jul 2009 13:27 GMT17
There is a sweet cat I am interested in at the shelter.  The cat looks
emaciated.  She is sickly right now and is not very energetic, but she
is eating and I hope she will put on weight.  If the cat gains weight
and starts appearing to be healthier, I wonder if she will be plagued
Please slow down25 Jul 2009 22:46 GMT4
Horrible night last night. I was trying to sleep after pulling four 16
hour shifts. I heard a horrible "thump-meow" out my window. When I
looked out the window, the neighbor's cat was in his death-throes.
Some a.shole was speeding down the street and freaked out the cat, who
And here I thought we were through with this...25 Jul 2009 11:57 GMT5
First, Meep hopped into the tub this morning, hopped straight out
shaking wet feet and I laughed... I didn't realize she was trying to
tell me something.  When she tried to pee in my "shred box" I got a
clue, checked the litterbox - couple of good pees, but on top, two or
Idiopathic cystitis25 Jul 2009 03:27 GMT3
So, even after seven years of dealing with this, I still learn new stuff.
In the past, I've alway whisked Meep off to the vet whenever she has an
attack.  Gradually, though, I've realized this hasn't really been in her
best interests - although for a while she'd always get an ...
Mixing an FIV+ cat with FIV- cats24 Jul 2009 15:46 GMT3
I have three wonderful female kitties (ages 3,6,14) that I adore.
All three have been spayed and all are healthy and negative on
diseases.  A few years ago I placed an FIV+, neutered, solid white
male with an older lady.  A few weeks ago she passed away.  The kitty
"Painless ending for  a cat22 Jul 2009 04:14 GMT7
I don't want to post right now but have to tell you something.
I just got back from having my Sadie dog PTS.
This vet, a new one to me, did the two step method.
They gave a shot in the hip area to relax her.  It did in just a very few
Nebby to be operated on for Patellar luxation - Both back legs!21 Jul 2009 20:15 GMT1
It is going to be done at the VRCC Center in Denver!  The surgery does
not sound serious; but then too I had not had a good experience on cat
survival from the VRCC!  Three went in, one came out alive and he died
a month later!  Their situations  were of course very serious!  Still,
