Board certified Surgeon or not18 Jun 2008 18:43 GMT1
My cat is having some sort of obstruction (presumably a some sort of
foreign body) in her stomach and vet is having tough time flush it
out.  She just had iv today since she has been vomiting every so often
and she has not been eating or drinking for a few days.
Meep earns her "TravelCat" title again.18 Jun 2008 04:42 GMT2
So, we all survived.  Those who've read my posts know that Meep and I
recently lived in Australia.  Now we don't :)
Poor Meep had a longer trip than us to get to the US - we flew pretty
much straight to where we are.  She had to fly a circuitous route to get

My pussy just visited the vet for a basic exam without blood test.
She had her temperature taken, heart & lungs listened to, visual exam
of coat & skin, eyes, ears, nose, throat, & lymph glands, mouth,
teeth, & gums, and other parts exam by touch.  She was given excellent
Do cats *really* keep mice away?17 Jun 2008 18:18 GMT11
I am thinking of buying a cat because of all
the mice in the house.
I trap them but they just keep coming.
Is it true that all the mice will vanish once
My Cat is better!17 Jun 2008 14:17 GMT3
Awhile ago, I posted that my kitty was throwing up a lot and I didn't
know why.  Some of you suggested I change him to high quality canned
food with the explanation that it doesn't have fillers and is pure
protein.
Thoughts on surgery for 14 yr old kitty.16 Jun 2008 22:49 GMT19
A few weeks ago, my 14 yr-old dsh boy Abbott had blood tests done, and
it came back with a high calcium count. This, with his recent problems
defecating, and some other blood results led us to consider that he
may have cancer.

AlphaTrak test strips16 Jun 2008 13:32 GMT6
Anyone know a low-cost source for the subject glucose test strips? The
best I've found is online at about $60 plus shipping for 50 strips.
I've read that human glucometers will work as well, and have
considered trying my own One-Touch meter, but the drop of blood from

For some reason my pussy instead of sleeping with me started sleeping
on the top of the stair.
Hyperthyroid and borderline CRF cat declining15 Jun 2008 21:30 GMT19
My Carey cat, who has has problems for the last 6+ years, none of them
successfully diagnosed (despite numerous vets and specialists and
tests), has finally been diagnosed as hyperthyroid, which I have
suspected all along, but tests did not indicate.  Her urine output has
Is fat good for bad kidneys?15 Jun 2008 20:02 GMT13
My 14 yo tomcat has a problem. He has been diagnosed by the vet, and he (the
vet) recommends less protein. And of course, our cat, being a real cat,
does not like potatoes, or vegetables, ... we have found some nutrients
which he accepts sometimes, if we mix them with a good amount ...
Will this feral become friendly?15 Jun 2008 18:04 GMT14
I've had this feral femal cat living in my back yard.  Looooong story short.
We fed her.  She hung around.  We trapped her and had her fixed.  That was a
month ago.  Still hanging around.  Problem...landlords return soon.  Won't
tolerate another cat even one that just hangs outside. ...

Cat Throws Up14 Jun 2008 23:14 GMT22
Does anybody have a clue as to why, almost every morning, my cat
throws up?  He's 13 and this has been going on for years.  I can only
give him four pellets of food at a time, with each dispense of food
being about 45 minutes apart.  Only then will he not throw up.
Our cat will not stay inside. Why not?14 Jun 2008 20:13 GMT39
I mentioned it briefly in another thread, but it is something I am quite
worried about: our cat will not stay within the house. Well, he has always
been an outside cat, and the weather is good at the moment, but still it is
remarkable that he does not even want to stay in the house ...
