Testing blood sugar22 May 2008 18:08 GMT2
We have an elderly diabetic cat and it's been a real chore testing his
blood sugar. It often takes 4-5 sticks to his ear to get a drop of
blood. I recenly stumbled on a technique that works every time.
While my wife holds him still, I insert my thumb in his ear such that
What to do with the ashes?22 May 2008 04:00 GMT8
Since Peewee is still sitting on my mantle (after a year), and Mimi is
due to come back next week - the question remains...what should I do
with their ashes...?
Pee liked going outdoors - and I'd be inclined to put him in a pot
Vet can't diagnose our cat.22 May 2008 02:36 GMT19
I'm going to skip the long story and tell the symptoms, maybe someone can
help point me in a direction.
Six year old tom cat, fixed and overweight. He's been panting a bit
getting around the house lately which I chalked up to his weight (he is on
Drugs addiction and cat food21 May 2008 19:44 GMT6
Our 1 yo british longhaired castrated male cat has been on Whiskas oh
so fishy for a week and he is going mad for the stuff to the point at
which I am wondering what the makers have put in it to cause this, and
whether I should be alternating it's use with other types of cat food

Any special care tips for a declawed cat?  Sensitive toes normal?
Our newest addition to the family has had his front toes removed
(yeah, declawed, but we all know what that means).
He seems to be really sensitive about them and I am not sure if there
Im so Proud of Ozzy The orange Cat20 May 2008 04:04 GMT2
We recently got chickens.  The neighboors dog came over and the cat
attacked him. The dog tried but the cat was on his face and wanted him
out of here. He wouldnt leave. We finally had to shoot off fire
crackers. He left then. Im so proud of Ozzy, glad he didnt get killed
Breeze litter box system?19 May 2008 22:37 GMT27
I saw an ad for Tidy Cat's new "Breeze" litterbox system which
separates #1 and #2, so I bought one to try out. (It's
"revolutionary!" LOL.)

Petromalt helping with hair balls but...19 May 2008 21:02 GMT4
I've been given my car Petromalt for about 6 weeks, and it definitely has
reduced the frequency of vomiting.  Initially she would just lick it up
off a spot on my desk, but she no longer seems interested.  so, I take
some and smear it on her front leg, and she licks it off.  ...
update on Levi18 May 2008 20:05 GMT1
Levi appears to be completely well again.  He LOVES the Hill's S/D (so
does Rudy), he's peeing normally, and he's back to his evil ways.  He
gets re-checked in about 2 weeks, so I can't be sure, but if behavior is
any indication, my little mischief maker is doing just fine.  :-)
Attic Cat Is Out18 May 2008 17:09 GMT25
Finally she came out but not by being trapped.  This is what
happened:  I was gone most of the afternoon and after I came home, I
checked the traps and they were empty. I went grocery shopping and
when I got home around 9:30, I sat at the computer and checked my
Goodbye Sweet Mimi (RB)17 May 2008 19:36 GMT15
I haven't posted here in along time, but wanted to let the old timers
know I lost my sweet tortie, Mimi, today.  She would have been 18 in
July.
She was doing remarkably well despite having CRF and pretty bad
Maine Coon Cat16 May 2008 22:03 GMT4
I would like to hear from anyone with the problem of a cat jumping up
on tables, counters and also being very fast in going in open closets,
doors, etc.,  I have had many cats over a long period of time but this
8 mo. old is driving me crazy.  Is it the breed?   This cat has long
Busy Kitty Update16 May 2008 14:19 GMT3
Hi guys. No, the kitties aren't that busy, but I sure am. No day
off from work in several weeks and so tired that my world feels
almost surreal.  LOL  Luckily I don't have to drive to the office
while working around the clock, so the roads are safer.
Seriously Overweight Kitten16 May 2008 03:13 GMT8
My daughter and her roommate have two kittens, about 8
or 9 months old.  One has become seriously overweight.
With one cat they can limit food but with two I don't know
what you do.  The cats are unattended when the girls are
