Cat addicted to TV - HELP09 Apr 2008 11:01 GMT7
I unleashed a monster a few weeks ago when I introduced my little cat
(3 years old) to the Video Catnip I've had for years. (It's a VHS tape
of birds and squirrels - other cats have enjoyed it a few times, but
quickly figured out it's just a goof on them and quit watching)
antibiotic dose for cat08 Apr 2008 14:17 GMT9
Hi. My cat got some bad scratches from another cat and developed an infection.
The packaging says 1-3 mls/5 lbs/day depending on the severity of the
infection.  The vet said to give her 2 mls a day...which would be the low end
of the dosage range for a 10 lb cat... but she weighs ...
Tom cat question07 Apr 2008 20:11 GMT3
Does an adult tom cat's pee lose that strong odor once they're neutered?
The vet said Hunter is a year or a little over a year (he just started
getting "jowly").  Since he's had testosterone in his system his pee really
stinks (but thankfully he figured out how to use the litter ...
Icarus Is Home07 Apr 2008 18:17 GMT10
Icarus is now home and recovering. Thanks to everyone who sent or expressed
their well wishes. He's really happy to be home. This morning I fed him and
gave him his meds and right now he's curled up on the couch sleeping.

Jessica sucking her toe06 Apr 2008 22:05 GMT2

Icarus Recovering06 Apr 2008 17:22 GMT39
I thought I'd give everyone an update. I've been checking on Icarus every
day and not had too much opportunity to visit him because I didn't want to
interfere too much with the vet. Before I left the vet on Sunday, I left my
jacket with him so he had my scent and hopefully make ...
Daisy, bald spots?06 Apr 2008 15:49 GMT10
I am not sure if this is just her shedding behavior but she's developing
some near bald spots.  The skin under looks pink and healthy.  One seems to
have been the flea medicine given the day we took her home.
I've never experienced this before.  She has a vet appointment in a ...

Update and Name Change05 Apr 2008 20:47 GMT2
Good news first - he tested negative for FIV and FeLV, so he's definitely
now an indoor only pampered cat.
Second, since we're definitely going to keep him (as if that was ever in
doubt), I decided "Garvin" just wouldn't do - too undignified.  So we're
Ping- Phil P05 Apr 2008 12:47 GMT1
Hi Phil
Can you pop over to RPCA and pick up a ping for you? One of the
regulars is starting SubQ with 17-year old Stinky and would like to
get any advice you can give
Fat Jack05 Apr 2008 05:12 GMT7
I'm curious if any of you have ever had an overweight kitten? I've
had  a LOT of cats and have never had a fat baby until now.  Jack is
10months old. He gets plenty of exercise with his sister (Jessica the
toe sucker), doesn't seem to spend any more time at the food bowl than

22 Y.O. Siamese Cat Losing Balance02 Apr 2008 21:39 GMT7
My cat is very old, maybe even 23.  She still eats and drinks ok, but
takes longer to drink water.
The problem has been going on for a few months.  And it is really bad
now.  She can't seem to walk straight and lisps over to the side. Even
urinary blockage02 Apr 2008 00:09 GMT14
Is it necessary to use prescription wet food for a cat who's blocked or will
any quality wet food do as well?
The cat has been to the vet, been unblocked and sent home on antibiotics and
anti-spasmodics.
