Diet Update - Ping Phil25 Feb 2008 14:32 GMT6
It's been a little over a week and Sammy has lost 2.5 ounces with none of
the other cats losing any weight.  I think that almost eliminating the dry
food (we're down to a third of a cup once a day for all 5 cats) has been the
key.  Next week I'm going to eliminate the dry food ...
What To Do With A Bored Mature Cat?25 Feb 2008 14:13 GMT4
Our 15 year old indoor male gets bored almost daily.  He bugs
me for favors just to have something to do (I'm almost always
home).  He lost any interest in cat toys we've tried - anything
dragged, dangling, or rolling.  What else can we try?
Filled with Guilt24 Feb 2008 05:42 GMT27
I'm posting this for the sole purpose of providing information to other
people (that I wish I had had a year and a half ago).
In October 2006, I brought my beautiful cat Molly to the vet to be
euthanized. She was 17 years old, very sick, and in the final stages of CRF.
Very poorly cat - advice needed please23 Feb 2008 11:15 GMT10
I've found this NG in the hope someone has come across this problem
and may be able to help.
Before I start I have to explain that the cat in question has had
medical treatment, including an hour in an oxygen tent and an

My boy is cheap...22 Feb 2008 20:13 GMT13
When it comes to his toys that is...first Joxer was totally fascinated with
rubber bands, now he's found that those plastic things around frozen fruit
juice cans that you have to peel/rip off to pop off the lid are so
intriguing he has to bat it all the way from the kitchen where it
Fat Cats, Another Downside22 Feb 2008 14:22 GMT1
We all know that obese cats usually develop lots of health problems,
including arthritis and heart disease.
Well, our fat cat, adopted at age 5 and 18 lbs, is now showing some signs of
arthritis at age 13, almost 14. But there is another thing her overweight
Farewell to Tortle22 Feb 2008 07:22 GMT26
Dear Tortle,
You have been part of my life for almost ten years.  You are much too young
to leave me.  I remember when I first saw you--tiny enough to fit into my
pocket.  You were the mistress of the inaudible meow even then, although you

update on older adopted cat21 Feb 2008 23:28 GMT1
Well I tried your suggestion to feed Lizzy upstairs, we went three days
with only a few bites and that was when I carried her upstairs to the
food. She still did not come up on the own even at night when the dog and
cat and I were on the third floor in bed.  It really stressed her ...

Animals need more than just TLC to thrive. Here are some tips to help
keep your pet healthy and happy for years to come:
• When going on vacation, be sure to leave cans of dog food and a can
opener where your dog can easily reach them.
Begging Cat19 Feb 2008 16:54 GMT8
My Cat has started something new.  He sits under our island and meows
constantly while we cook.  We have never fed him while cooking and of
course we try not to drop any food.  But this constant meowing and
sticking his head between our feet while cooking is getting really
