my cat keeps losing his collar!29 Feb 2008 13:51 GMT15
Hi. My cat has now lost about 5 collars in the neighborhood. This doesn't
count those that neighbors have found and returned. Many of the times he's
come in without it, he's also been a bit muddy, so I suspect he's been
crawling under some brush that's snagged it.
Icarus back at the vet29 Feb 2008 11:52 GMT28
For those that are interested, Icarus is once again back at the vet for a
urinary tract blockage and is giving them a lot of headaches. They said that
if they get only a few feet near him he starts hissing and spitting. I was
on the phone with the doctor today and could hear ...
Need help with stray cat (kinda long)29 Feb 2008 08:03 GMT6
I need some advice.  I'm about to take in a stray cat that we found.  She's
about 9-10 months old and probably has lived most of her life so far
outside.  I've taken her to the vet and had her fixed, etc.  For the past
week or so we've kept her in a dog cage at my husband's store ...
Cat off the leather sofa29 Feb 2008 05:06 GMT5
I am about to buy a new leather sofa and I don't want my cat to ruin
it by scratching it to pieces.  I know that they sell some sprays for
this purpose.  The problem is that I live in a studio apartment.
I do not want something that is so strong that my cat will be
Goodbye to Alex29 Feb 2008 03:52 GMT11
We will be saying goodbye to Alex on Thursday night. His medical condition
has been steadily declining for the last few months, in spite of his
medications. His CRF seems to be stable, so it isn't that. The vet thinks
that it's possible his cardiac situation has deteriorated or ...
OMG the shedding!29 Feb 2008 02:22 GMT5
The boys had to be shaved before, Moe & Rudy got thick clumps of fur
you couldn't get through...I was lucky the SPCA did for a donation
which was a lot less than the local groomers charge (I don't want them
groomed again, they went into major attack mode afterwards and had to

Jealous Cat28 Feb 2008 03:11 GMT11
I was in an accident in August and spent four days in the hospital.  A
helpful neighbor took care of my two 8-year old cats.  When I came back from
the hospital, my SO who lives 30 miles away, came to stay with me for two
weeks till I could take care of myself.
Q abt water fountains28 Feb 2008 02:28 GMT1
Do you think cats really need them?  Is just hype as in getting pet
ppl to buy useless thinks like all those fancy dog outfits that have
real jeweled collars
or is there really a need for them?  My guys share a water bowl but
Midnight Snacks & Pooing28 Feb 2008 00:58 GMT3
Hi, everyone, I am a newcomer from Japan.  My 6-month old shorthair is
not fixed yet but will pretty soon, and he is having this tenacious
habit of getting up in the middle of the night to snack on feeder and
then gives me this smelly poo souvenir. Since he is shifting into the
Birdfeeder a bad idea?27 Feb 2008 13:25 GMT1
I have a young indoor/outdoor cat who's a great tree climber.  I'm
thinking of putting out a birdfeeder but wonder if that's wise.
Boo's Hyperactive Thyroid--Update27 Feb 2008 00:48 GMT12
Those of you who have read the group for a while may remember that I have a
tuxedo girl named Boo who we adopted from a relative when she was five years
old and obese--18 lbs when she is a petite girl who the vet says should
weigh 8 lbs.
A few pictures of Tortle (and friends)26 Feb 2008 04:14 GMT4
I have more pictures of my kitties elsewhere but I am not always on speaking
terms with my computer.  One of these days I'll try to compile a few more.
Unfortunately the only cat in this group of photos still alive is Hailey,
Tortle's big fluffy brother.  He is the fluffier ...
