19 1/2 year old cat has seizures04 Jan 2008 19:58 GMT3
My 19 1/2 year old cat, Sandy had a stroke about 6 months ago.  She is deaf
now. My vet put her on prednisolone, 7 1/2 mg per day. She has started have
seizures for about 3 months now.  They last for about 1 minute, she can't
stand and is lethargic afterwards.

I just returned from visiting family in Florida, Orlando area, but out in
the country-turning-suburbs. It was a nice change for Christmas, as I
usually have a house full and do a lot of decorating, cooking, the works.
They have this beautiful "great room" that opens onto a Florida ...
Opinions regarding Bullwinkle03 Jan 2008 20:27 GMT7
I have spoken to the doctors at the emergency vet service several times
since last night. Apparently, since Bullwinkle's chest was drained, he is
doing much better, and he is ready to come home. Yay! Happy dance. They have
put him on a diuretic (to prevent fluid buildup in his ...
Bullwinkle03 Jan 2008 20:02 GMT7
Last night, my young son informed me that it seemed like Bullwinkle was
having trouble breathing. We took him to the emergency vet and apparently he
has cardiac hypertrophy (enlarged heart) - his heart looked fine on his
echocardiogram in 2006. His chest was now full of fluid. ...
Would a former stud boy cat make a suitable pet?03 Jan 2008 02:05 GMT4
I've been to rescue centres to find a pet cat. I want an long-haired
adult male neuter, in good health and with a friendly outgoing
temperment.
I've been offered a cat and would like some advice please before I
Hi and help with a persnicketty old male03 Jan 2008 01:59 GMT4
I've been reading for a bit now and felt that I should pop in and say hi  :)
I also have a problem I was hoping you all could help with.
While I was away last summer, the men let my yet unfixed female out and the
result was 4 babies.  Sadly, the runt passed away despite all ...
Cat Depression Update02 Jan 2008 19:56 GMT5
Jade still refuses to eat and is growing weaker. I called the vet today and
he said that if she's still not wanting to eat then to bring her in
tomorrow. He also said I should force feed her as well. I've been giving her
chicken broth via a syringe and also gave her prednisone.  ...
Heart Murmur?02 Jan 2008 17:13 GMT5
Yesterday I took my 9 year old cat to the vet for her annual checkup
and bloodwork.  While there the vet detected a "significant" heart
murmur.
She didn't have this before.  Her blood work came back today and they
Yet Another cat?02 Jan 2008 14:04 GMT11
I visited some friends over the holidays; they're about 2 hours away.
They recently moved from West Virginia to Philadelphia, and brought
their cat Francis. In WV she had the run of the neighborhood, which
was mostly open fields. In PA, she's in a fairly large apartment but
More on Bullwinkle02 Jan 2008 04:48 GMT2
Bullwinkle has now been home from the emergency vet for a few hours. When he
first arrived, he seemed really happy, went to his bowl and was wolfing down
his cat food, used the litter box, and then sat down to rest. About an hour
later, he went to hide behind the piano. He has ...
What to do about skittish cats?01 Jan 2008 23:36 GMT9
I have this friend that has a cat. The cat hasn't been handled very much but
it is very cute. Anyways the kitten doesn't like to come out of her hiding
place. So we have to move furniture to get it out. But when we do get the
kitten out it is very scared. So I would like to know how ...

Sneezing Cat and Watery Eyes01 Jan 2008 17:36 GMT2
My cat has been sneezing a lot the past few days and I have also noticed that
it looks like he has been crying from one eye only, but I do not see any
inflimation in the eye or any discharge (except the clear tears).  He's seems
a little bit more tired and has been sleeping in ...
