Evangeline is a Mouser20 Jan 2007 21:33 GMT3
I'm so proud of her.
When I adopted her last week I noted she had traits of our now passed
champion mouser Emily.
Well, I was right:
Will trimmed cat nails still damage leather furmiture?20 Jan 2007 20:10 GMT23
I have three cats and although I trimmed their nails in advance of
receiving a new leather sofa, I missed a few nails particlularly on the
young feisty one who struggles quite a bit when he is restrained.
After two days of owning the sofa a few scratches showed up and I think I
HDTV Meow!20 Jan 2007 15:33 GMT3
I just got my first HDTV, and its a big hit with Hank.
He went bonkers over Bird Migration, but went completey ape-sh.t over a
special about a Magic and Big Cats special.
I think he wants to be a leopard when he grows up.
Trembling cat - trembles while purring20 Jan 2007 07:21 GMT1
I have a cat who is about a year and a half old. Sometimes when she's
curled up on my lap, purring away, she trembles. It's the kind of
trembling a cat does when scared, like at the vet's.
Is this a sign of a problem or is it just her quirk? It only seems to

Thoughts on training my cat to find my keys? (via Temple Grandin)20 Jan 2007 01:50 GMT1
Temple Grandin got me thinking in her latest book "Animals in
Translation". She talks about the concept that animals are like
autistic savants - in that they can learn some human social behavior,
but retain incredible talents linked to their heightened senses and

Is a dental cleaning necessary?19 Jan 2007 18:15 GMT5
I just took my cat to the vet because she was not eating and I strongly
suspected it was a dental problem. Everytime she would try to eat she
would bite or lick the food then make a horrible noise as if in pain
then run away.
Toy warning19 Jan 2007 09:47 GMT7
I had a scare this morning with Levi.  I was on a conference call when
suddenly I heard Levi screaming and howling (my boss asked WTH was going
on).  I found him on the cat tree with the stretchy string from a teaser-
type toy wrapped tightly around his leg, and also wrapped ...

Kitten has no bladder / stool control . . .18 Jan 2007 20:20 GMT9
Last week, my wife and I found a kitten that had been run over by a vehicle,
laying on the center line of a busy highway, alive. (We are in the south,
and it was in the afternoon, with temperature around 80F, so hypothermia was
not an issue.) In my rush to get the kitten out of ...
Costs of dental cleanings18 Jan 2007 14:57 GMT16
I know that the cost of a dental cleaning will vary depending on a
number of things, but I'm trying to figure out what the average is. My
grandmother was telling me that the veterinary clinic we both take our
cats to wanted to charge her about $630 to clean her 8 y/o cat's teeth.
How do you decide when to euthanize?18 Jan 2007 04:29 GMT15
I'm going to have to make that decision at some point.  I feel that it's
going to be sooner than later.  My 18 year old cat has CRF.  He's lost so
much weight.  He's basically just a skeleton.
He doesn't seem to be in any pain yet.  He still likes lots of love and he
Kitten Behavior18 Jan 2007 03:37 GMT6
Just got a 3 mo old male kitten/cat. Clean bill of health from vet. At
feeding time he'll eat some of his food and then paw all around the food
dish like he's trying to bury his business. He'll walk away and return a
short time later, finish his food and paw again. No appetite ...
