Update on "bald belly syndrome"07 Nov 2006 19:19 GMT2
It's been a month since I posted that my 9yo dsh Ted was diagnosed with bald
belly syndrome, which is basically feline OCD -- licking the hair off his
hind legs and belly.  He was on Valium for two weeks, then had a follow-up
visit with the vet.  The vet said the hair on his ...
Plugs, etc.--one can never get complacent07 Nov 2006 17:22 GMT10
Just the night before last, I was sitting here thinking I
would write a post saying Mingy has been fine since he blocked
and was diagnosed with Struvite crystals in January 2005.
Well, the next morning, I ended up calling the Vet, which led

Cat pooping all over the house - help!06 Nov 2006 21:22 GMT8
In early September my husband and I adopted an 11-month old gray tabby
neutered male from the local shelter.  At first he wouldn't eat (he had a
brother at the shelter who was the same way at that time) so I took him to
the vets and learned he had diarrhea so he was on Flagyl for a ...
May I Ask A Question?06 Nov 2006 21:05 GMT15
Our Maine Coon cat likes just a (very) little milk in the morning when
we are eating breakfast......he doesn't get diarrhea from it.....but
someone was telling me they read that Maine Coon Cats can get ?????
diabetes from milk???? Has anyone ever heard of that?
My cat is on prednisone06 Nov 2006 21:02 GMT23
I have a 2 year old orange tiger stripe fixed and front declawed male.  He
has some sorta blood issue where if he doesn't take the prednisone his white
blood cell count gets too high and he gets sick and could die.  He was on 5mg
of prednisone but as of recently he has been moved up ...
Crazy cat06 Nov 2006 15:41 GMT4
My sister has a 16 week old female kitten who is attacking the children.
I've told her to have her spayed, but will that make a big difference?
Are there any other tips to help the kitty calm down?

Hi,
My cat Nemo was just diagnosed with CRF. His numbers were all completly
normal with the exception of the BUN, which was only 12 points about normal.
I am feeding him pretty much whatever he wants for now but he doesn't seem to
The Emily Saga Continues05 Nov 2006 23:22 GMT1
Emily appears to be responding well to the antibiotic treatment for her
URI. But yesterday I brought her back to the vet and then the bad news
came.
Emily is 14 years old, a tiny little black (chocolate brown in reality)
Hi, new kitten question...05 Nov 2006 19:24 GMT8
He, we recently adopted a kitten from the local shelter. He is a
siamese mix, along with possibly Himalayan or Ragdoll.  Anyway, I have
never owned a cat and asked the shelter a million questions. Many of
them regarding the litterbox. They all told me that it's instictual,
Vaccine Associated Sarcomas05 Nov 2006 16:40 GMT2
Did you ever have a cat that got VAS?
(Vaccine-Associated Sarcomas)
I have heard of cats who got it......and because of this we do not get
our cats the leukemia & rabies vaccination, neither of which is required

What can you do about a long-haired cat who needs his bum shaving?
We took him to the vet, who said it would probably need shaving every
three months.
Could we do it?
does litter robot work?05 Nov 2006 15:15 GMT2
I'm thinking of getting the litter robot as a gift to my 2 cats for christmas
(read: gift to myself).
is it worth $300?  One of my cats shreds the litter bags and every week its a
gigantic ickfest to clean.  If this will remedy that problem I don't care
Tick question05 Nov 2006 01:50 GMT6
We trapped a few kittens yesterday in a feral colony. I was checking them
over today and noticed that one has an engorged tick on the back of it's
neck. If I apply frontline will that kill an already attached tick safely or
do I need to remove the tick?
Very Very Hard Question--Owner's Quality of Life04 Nov 2006 18:28 GMT13
I'm posting with a problem that's caused so much pain for me I don't
know how I've managed these past few years.  I have a 14+ year old
former feral I inherited when she was already older than 10 and whom I
tried to domesticate.  I succeeded partly, but only partly.
