Surgery is complete18 Oct 2006 02:32 GMT8
Ana had her surgery.  The vet removed 3 inches of intestine, she said (I'm
hoping I remember this all correctly) that basically about 2" of her
intestine was almost non-functioning, so that had to go, and then she took
half an inch on either side.  She also did find some old ...
Bloodwork update on Peewee and Mimi18 Oct 2006 02:30 GMT5
Got the bloods back for Peewee and Mimi.  Pee's T4 was marginally high
(2.6), so we ran the free-T4 test and it came up marginally high again
- which is *exactly* what it was in 2003, so I think he probably just
runs marginally high.   All other tests were ok.  His WBC was sligtly
One Final Question About a Blockage18 Oct 2006 02:02 GMT2
Hello everyone.  I had a kitty that blocked the Friday before last.  I have
been posting about it frequently on here with great help from everyone.  He
was doing pretty good last week, although not peeing in amounts that I was
thrilled about, but, the vet said that as long as he was ...
Monday morning Luna update17 Oct 2006 23:06 GMT4
Luna is about the same as she has been since Friday. She is still
sneezing and seems pretty lethargic, though she does get up to eat,
drink and use the litter box.
I just spoke with the vet and the results of her blood tests were normal

Am I just overworked, or is this completely adorable?
I keep cackling madly.
They are sooooo cute!
Steroid injections for colitis17 Oct 2006 20:14 GMT1
Our cat, Rita, has colitis.  In the past when she's exhibited symptoms we've
gotten oral medicine from the vet.  Lately we haven't bothered doing this
since the time it takes to clear up seems to be the same with and without
the medicine.
Something under chin17 Oct 2006 17:49 GMT4
I don't know where to even start explaining this.  I have noticed over the
last few weeks that my cat has what looks like black grit on his chin.  At
first I thought it was flea dirt (even though I use frontline) but I combed
him and there was no fleas, he has been re-treated and ...
Lilly's Bladder infection...17 Oct 2006 17:44 GMT10
Inside/Outside cat.  Vet told my wife to keep her inside for a week,
while we administer oral meds 2/day.  Keeping her in one room w/litter
and food/water, so she doesn't pee everywhere else.  Any suggestions on
how we can make her more comfortable there?
Was there Really a Holocaust?17 Oct 2006 14:13 GMT3
Was there Really a Holocaust?
The Holocaust has become the greatest instrument of sympathy which any
nation has ever been able to use to gain support for wars, expansion and
foreign-aid: This has made Israel the world's sixth strongest military
Crepuscular Creatures17 Oct 2006 05:03 GMT8
Gracie is the most fun when I stay up too late or get up too early--because
cats are most active at dawn and dusk.
For her, the couple of hours before dawn are when she is Crazy Cat, doing
acrobatics and getting that wild look in her eye.
Gerbil Stuffing17 Oct 2006 04:10 GMT5
Gerbil Stuffing
While discussing a gay acquaintance recently, my friend Mary, a nurse,
lauded him by adding, "and he's no damn gerbil stuffer either." When I
protested that she should not perpetuate cruel stereotypes of our homosexual
best magnetic cat door?16 Oct 2006 19:38 GMT4
Hi. I just adopted two cats. They are indoor/outdoor, but of course we're
keeping them indoors initially until they get used to being here.
Can someone recommend a particular brand of magnetic cat door? We have
raccoons in the neighborhood who would love to come in, so we can't ...
Found out what's wrong with Ana16 Oct 2006 11:33 GMT17
Ana had the ultrasound today, and we finally know what's wrong.  She has a
dynamic bowel obstruction (I think that is the correct turn).  A section of
her intestine is working intermittenly, which explains why she fine for a
few days, and then sick again.  The vet thinks it might ...
Adding new male cat to the household16 Oct 2006 03:04 GMT6
We have a 7-month-old male kitten. When we got him, we had hoped to
train him to be a lap cat, but he only loves to play, not to cuddle. He
will sleep on the floor near us, but doesn't like to be in a lap.
Meanwhile, an 11-month old male cat has arrived at the local shelter.
My cat is missing...fear of Halloween16 Oct 2006 01:01 GMT15
Hi, there is little you can do from cyberspace, but my one year old cat
has been missing for about 48 hours now.    She is a neutered all black
female.   I have heard things about sickos and black cats at
Halloween....do you think there can be truth to it?     A collegue of
