I have a 5  year old Tomcat.   He has  just returned  from the vet  and
I am anxious about the  advice and treatment received.  The vet is a
very experienced one, but not (I am afraid to say)    very
compassionate  (having supported actively,  the movement to continue
Skinny Cat14 Sep 2006 21:03 GMT41
First of all, thanks to all who regularly post here! Especially to the
person who responded to the question about kitty constipation - I got
rid of the clay litter and my 19-year-old Kiki is doing much better!
Now then, I have her on thyroid medication (overactive) and she is doing
My kitty bites me... a LOT.. advice please14 Sep 2006 20:56 GMT3
I have a beautiful calico that I adopted when she was a very young
kitten (about 7 years ago). The problem is, any time she sees a hand
coming towards her, she'll lunge at it, bite it, recoil and hiss, then
run away.
Going on vacation - without my cat14 Sep 2006 18:34 GMT6
I recently moved to Arlington VA.  The move was quite stressful for our
cat (she never liked to drive and this was the longest she ever had to
be in a car - 6 hours).  I don't want to put her through that again!
However, now I face a dillema about going away for the next 4 days...
The Hidden Cat14 Sep 2006 16:17 GMT1
We inherited two cats. These cats had been locked in a shed for four
months but fed and had the litter box cleaned. They've otherwise had
virtually no contact with people. One is a black short-hair and has
really been the perfect pet. The Himalyan, however, is another story.
kitten emergency14 Sep 2006 03:20 GMT11
Several days ago we rescued 6 4.5 week old kittens. They had not been
weaned by the mother. We are feeding them KMR formula from a bottle
and dish, and for the last day they have been eating wet food from a
dish.
You'd better not let that bug go!14 Sep 2006 00:24 GMT2
So Nipsy jumps up on the bed last night with a nice juicy waterbug in
his mouth, still very much alive. I say, "You'd better not let that
bug go!", and he does. He pounces on it, it gets away, he pounces on
it, and it gets away over the edge of the bed. By the time bright boy

Just adopted 11-month old gray tabby from shelter13 Sep 2006 03:56 GMT4
His name had been Ooster but we changed it to Tumbleweed.  I purchased the
same cat food for him they were feeding him at the shelter (a PetSmart
shelter) and he ate a little yesterday but hasn't eaten any since.
Could it be because he is in new surroundings and just needs time to ...
Two dead strays...13 Sep 2006 01:49 GMT23
My wife called me shortly after she left for work this morning. She said
there were two dead cats on the busy road out behind where we live, that
they looked like some of the ones I regularly feed. Sure enough, they are
some of the ones that visit me. Seems one of the neighbors ...
10 day lurker`s coming out - Hi to all from Bettina12 Sep 2006 15:45 GMT17
after reading here for about ten days I found out that I want to give
my 2 pence every now and then. So I think it`s about time to introduce
me and my gang to the group here. It feels so good to have found other
slaves to the furballs. I am obviously not the only crazy can-opener
cat meows with no sound?12 Sep 2006 02:14 GMT11
My cat recently started making silent meows , where his mouth goes thru the
motions but I barely hear anything., especially when guests are present.
Is this normal for a cat?

nice little cat quote12 Sep 2006 01:03 GMT27
"I simply can't resist a cat, particularly a purring one. They are the
cleanest, cunningest, and most intelligent things I know, outside of
the girl you love, of course".
- quoted in Abroad with Mark Twain and Eugene Field, Fisher
