New to the group, and with a problem07 Apr 2006 07:04 GMT7
A few days ago I've noticed that my cat (male, 1 year old, never ill before)
is sneezing. I thought "OK, these days lots of people sneeze too, weather
changes often and it's windy, no big deal.". But this morning I noticed he
got diarrhea and secretion from the nose, as well as ...

Also, The man I got the kitten from obviously wasn't taking great care of
this little kitten (being the reason I couldn't resist taking him home) It
was a quick exchange. When I called him later that night to figure out what
kind of food he had been giving him he tells me "oh, I ...
"Safe" non-cumulative poison?07 Apr 2006 04:13 GMT1
We have two cats, once of which is an "excellent" mouser.  I write
"excellent" because, while he is great at catching them, he is terrible
at killing them.  He brought in a pregnant female field mouse from
outside, and then lost her, and now we have a mouse problem.
Dolly the Cat only eats dry food.07 Apr 2006 01:08 GMT5
Scout and Dolly have lived together for over 5 years before Scout
passed 2 days ago, in any event she has only eaten dry since birth
even though 2 different brands and multipul flavors were avalable for
both cats.
cat food ratings?07 Apr 2006 00:49 GMT9
Is there a site which has rated cat foods for nutritional qualities?
My cat suddenly is turning up his nose at what he's eaten for years.  I
got him to down a little Deli Cat, but I wonder if it isn't more like a
treat and not something for him to eat steadily.

Happy Birthday Kami!06 Apr 2006 03:50 GMT11
The Kamikaze Kitty, better known as Kami, celebrates her 18th birthday
today.  Old enough to vote!
She's still a bit frail from her recent bouts of illness, but she's
bright, alert, interested and still rules the house.  I'm not sure how

Hi, all -- my four-year-old DSH cat, Lou, has had chronic diarrhea
since January. My vet & I are able to control the symptoms with
methylprednisolone and metronidazole, but when we try to wean him off
the meds the diarrhea returns in force. Even though the diarrhea was

The vet says our cat has Cardiomyopathy.
It seemed to come on in 2 days.
Scouts weight hasn't changed in over 2 years.
We took Scout to the vet.

My 16 year old cat Tiger diede last month.  My 6 year old guy, Otto, has
been very subdued since then.  I knew I'd get him a friend eventually and
last week I went to a shelter near work and met some cats and talked to the
