question on teeth cleaning19 Apr 2006 14:11 GMT7
My cat has severe gingivitis and needs a cleaning and possible
extractions.
My current vet has given me an outrageously high price quote:  $450 for
a cleaning and $650 if he needs extractions.  I would like to get his

Hello everyone --- I haven't thought about getting help on a newsgroup for my cat until tonight. Duhhh!
Anyway, my cat who is a rescued cat is about 3+ years old. I have had him for a little over 2 years. He was an outside cat, and now
I keep him inside because of coyotes (yes - in ...
Misbehaving kitten18 Apr 2006 19:54 GMT7
Hello Everyone, (Happy Easter)
We've got a little 10 week old kitten, had her for 3 weeks now and ever
since she came into our house she's been good about her litter box
(smart Mom taught her well). But every now and then she decides to
best food for itchy cat18 Apr 2006 16:36 GMT3
What is a good cat food. Male, 12, a bit itchy. Vet said sometimes cats
can't tolerate the grains in dry food because they are strict carnivores.
I did try a hypoallergenic food but it is 1.69 for each small can and I
can't buy it anymore. I'm looking for some ideas on food.

Flea medicines, an interesting problem17 Apr 2006 17:38 GMT3
We have always used flea medication (Advantage) applied as directed.  We
have a twelve year old (a rescue from a shelter) and have recently adopted
another kitten (also a shelter rescue).  The two get along splendidly, even
to the point of the younger one (Kate, 5 months) become ...
stool sample - gross questions17 Apr 2006 14:12 GMT9
When I adopted my new kitty Isaac from the shelter they gave me a little
plastic container for a stool ample.  The woman at the shelter said it
should be a fresh sample.  I think that they want to check for worms,
because he's had diarrhea.  I haven't had any luck catching him in ...
Happy Easter17 Apr 2006 01:08 GMT14
I may not be here in the morning or have time later to wish everyone a happy
and joyous Easter.  Don't eat to much and watch over the fur children.  Good
Luck everyone.

Esophagitis16 Apr 2006 22:19 GMT2
Does anyone have any experience treating esophagitis?  My 6 1/2 year
old cat who had previously been (mis)diagnosed as having pancreatitis,
just had an endoscopic exam and was found to have esophagitis, and his
belly was full of food even though he had not eaten for over 10 hours.

Hey everyone I have a question.  How do I tell if my cat has eye allergies.
She gets yellow eye goo every once in a while, maybe once a week.  Its only
in her right eye and only in her tear duct.  She is a 3 year old calico,
don't know if that makes a difference.  I really need to ...
Is cat's behavior due to Spring?15 Apr 2006 02:05 GMT8
Help!  I have two cats (one 9 yr old male, one 5 year old female).
They have always gotten along fairly well, not the best of pals but
they at least tolerated eachother.  Last fall we moved to a new
neighborhood.  Our old neighborhood did not have many outside cats and

gingivitis question15 Apr 2006 01:50 GMT19
I took my cat to the vet yesterday for his annual exam.  Last year they
told me his teeth were good but that he had gingivitis.  His gums
looked quite red.  He had no other symptoms - ate his dry food without
a problem and didn't seem to have any discomfort.  I started brushing
Catnip and Catgrass15 Apr 2006 01:36 GMT3
This may sound like a dumb questionbut -----
What, if any, is the difference between Catnip and Catgrass??
I grow my own catnip outdoor for my cats.  It comes up every year now.
Inappropriate Urination: dangit, louis14 Apr 2006 22:15 GMT8
Our 5 year old Bengal has resumed his affection for peeing on our
front door.
We'd almost broken him of the habit, but in the last few weeks he's
back at it.
