I think everyone, including vets, make mistakes.  The measure of a person,
however, is how they handle the mistakes they make.
As a lot of you know, Bandit was severely burned by a rice-filled heating
bag when she got a dental cleaning last year.  I didn't find the burn until
Diabetes, insulin change and lack of coordination/clumsy?18 Mar 2006 17:30 GMT9
Anyone seen information on this?  I searched and can't find anything.
Older cat with diabetes induced by a series of steroids from a vet.
Figured this out, got him on appropriate insulin levels, he does ok.
Went this way for years, seemingly perfectly happy.
another question abuot cystitis18 Mar 2006 07:25 GMT8
My 7-ish year old female dsh cat has cystitis (her first case of
illness while with me).  She is currently on Baytril for 10 days, and
the vet said she may have to have another course, depending on how she
responds to this round.

cats begins this Monday and starts at 7am (6am Pacific, 8am Central, 9am
Eastern). For more go to www.catgalaxymedia.com.
You can also tune into the station via Loudcity at
6 Year Old Female Behavior Change18 Mar 2006 05:33 GMT1
I have 3 cats, brother & sister 6 year olds and a female 1 year old.  My six
year old female, Cleo has been acting very differently lately.  We have only
had the 1 year old female, Bella for about 5 months and everything has been
fine between them (after the first 2 weeks).  Now ...

any canned foods with glucosamine?18 Mar 2006 03:40 GMT1
Kira gets some canned food and some dry food. She's doing better since
adding the hairball remedy, but I'd like to increase her canned food
since that goes through her system easier. But I hate to lose the
benefits of having the glucosamine in her food already. I don't seem to
Grieving Kitties18 Mar 2006 03:07 GMT11
Please understand my current state of mind as I submit this question.
I know I have more important things to take care of at this time, but
I am taking care of those with the help of my friends and neighbors.
My wife of 31 years passed away today at 1:00 PM.  Actually, she went
housepainting and cats' health17 Mar 2006 23:20 GMT2
I need to paint my living room. I'll keep my cats, Shiloh and Tiger, in
another part of the house until the job's done.
My concern is that the paint job involves patching up holes with
spackle/plaster and sanding them down before painting. As you may know,
Cat on long drive17 Mar 2006 23:14 GMT20
I have a dear cat that I love very much, and when we travel anywhere,
she goes all day without peeing.  If I drive, you know, eight hours,
she will wait until I put her kitty box in the motel room and then go
in the evening, late.
Cats & Coffee17 Mar 2006 21:21 GMT4
Usually in the morning when I prepare my coffee, I've got grains of it
covering my hand, from spooning it out of the bag.  Mico LOVES to lick the
stuff off of me.  Is this a good thing or what?
Thanks in advance,
Veterinary malpractice17 Mar 2006 19:39 GMT68
I found this quite interesting, especially as it is published by the
Animal Defense League of Arizona, where Candace lives.

They suggest letters to the licensing board and the local vets
Dart17 Mar 2006 16:52 GMT2
Has anyone gotten the e-mail from PetsMart charities about Dart, the
orange tabby that was shot in the head with a blow dart? What a
beautiful animal! I really cannot imagine what possesses people to harm
animals, any animal.
Switch from urinary prescription - is it possible?17 Mar 2006 05:46 GMT7
Has anyone had any success with weaning a male cat with urinary
problems off a prescription diet (Royal Canin urinary s/o) to a more
natural diet?  I am feeding 3 of my cats Katzenflocken and would love
to get the other one off the dependence on a prescribed food that I
