Cat Trapping in Calgary, Alberta, Canada27 Mar 2006 00:56 GMT11
Recreational cat trappers have much to celebrate with Monday's
successful third reading of the Calgary Cat Control Bylaw. When the
bylaw comes into effect (likely next week), cat trapping enthusiasts
will no longer be restricted to trapping furious felines trespassing on
cat losing fur26 Mar 2006 23:13 GMT1
My neighbor's outdoor Florida cat is losing fur on hind legs, moving to stomach area. Cat was treated with frontline about 2 wks ago, but problem seems to be a bit worse. He appears otherwise in good health.
Suggestions?

Bandit's Going Blind26 Mar 2006 19:08 GMT7
Or at least very, very near-sighted.  At 16, I guess that's not all that
unusual.  She's been to the vet recently and is in great health otherwise,
so this isn't the result of an illness, just age.  She doesn't seem to be
bothered by it, the only reason I noticed is that she ...
Water Rejection26 Mar 2006 15:16 GMT4
My cat, Tess, refuses to drink water unless it is from a container in
my hand. This means she will not drink water alone, not even if she is
very thirsty.
I can't always be there to make sure she drinks enough, so is there any
Moving26 Mar 2006 13:07 GMT4
Poor Meep.  This morning, I stuck her in a room that she's usually
banned from, and when she came out, everything was gone!  Movers came
and packed us out.  I didn't realize just how badly (and quietly) she's
stressing, until the furniture was gone:  The floors were just covered
Bengal Cat Spraying Again? Blood?26 Mar 2006 01:50 GMT3
I have a Six year old Male Bengal Named Chikotay, he's been fixed since he
was six months old. Over the past couple days I've been finding little
puddles of bloody urine on the ground. Now I have four other cats and two
small dogs. So it was tough to figure out who was leaving ...
Allergic skin reaction?26 Mar 2006 01:05 GMT2
My 6 year old cat who is being treated for pancreatitis now has a rash
on his forehead, and fur/skin is coming off in little tufts from his
cheeks.  I have not seen him scratching at all, just washing his face
with his paw which is pulling the hair out and he now has a raw area
Help with cat meowing every morning?25 Mar 2006 20:46 GMT7
I need help.  We have two cats, Trinity and Mr. Anderson.  One of them
meows every morning, wanting to get into the bathroom (which is next to
our bed).  The problem is, Trinity likes to play with water in the
sink, so she is meowing to get in the bathroom to play.  She doesn't
Shots or No Shots25 Mar 2006 20:28 GMT4
I will be taking my 4 year old for his annual checkup next month and am
wondering what the concensus is on what shots an indoor, only kitty
really needs?  Also, opinions on the injectable vacines and the nasal
vacines.  He received a nasal vacine last year and acquired a sinus
compounding pharmacy for cat medication?25 Mar 2006 07:50 GMT11
Harriet, one of the cats at work, is on Propulsid 2x a day.  The vet's
office charges $1 per capsule.  I was looking for an online veterinary
compounding pharmacy where I might be able to get it cheaper.  I did a quick
search but everything I looked at catered to vets, not ...
Diabetes Treatment25 Mar 2006 06:45 GMT52
My 7.5 year old cat has just been diagnosed with diabetes. Per my discussion
with his vet, I will likely start on him on some potassium today and then
decide on insulin injections and routine blood sugar testing to ultimately
get the insulin dosage right.

Update on Caring for 11 year old cat - he's too fat!25 Mar 2006 00:55 GMT32
Well, thanks to everyone for the advice. We just got back from the
vet. Bubble needs to have his teeth cleaned and also needs to diet. He
weighs 16+ pounds and should only weigh 12-13. The vet said I should
cut his food back so he slims down slowly. Senior panel results will
Open Cans24 Mar 2006 19:57 GMT5
Here's an answer from an expert on the safety of open cans. In this
case it was tuna fish or salmon.  But the rules shouldn't change for
cat food.

Grieving Kitties 224 Mar 2006 19:54 GMT3
First, I want to thank everyone for their kind words of sympathy.
They were much appreciated.  My step-daughter, Sylvia, is also a cat
person and is the one who persuaded my wife and I to adopt.
She and my step-son and his wife came to help me with the things that
