| Cat in early kidney disease | 12 Feb 2006 22:52 GMT | 46 |
Ginger is a 6 year old orange and white spayed female. She's been inside all her life with me, but was born in a barn. Tested FIV/FeLV negative, vaccinated on schedule. I got her from my hay guy, and I believe that she's HIGHLY inbred--oddly shaped front legs, teeth missing (and ...

| How many shots do my cats need? Is the Vet ripping me off? Help!!! | 12 Feb 2006 18:01 GMT | 13 |
Hi, four months ago someone tossed some kittens into my yard. Although I already have two cats, I decided to keep these two kittens, as there is no way I could ever drop them off at the pound. At seven months of age I took them to have them spayed and neutered. The

| Odd litterbox habits | 12 Feb 2006 08:36 GMT | 3 |
For most of her life, Meep was a cat that would only pee once a day, and poo like every other day. After her second cystitis attack, we made some changes that finally got her drinking enough water, and she was eating more canned food for a while.

| Question - Sensitivity to Diet Change? | 11 Feb 2006 17:52 GMT | 2 |
Last August, our 9 year old male DSH had a large bladder stone. Fortunately we discovered it early enough. He was cathetherised for a couple of days, and treated with drugs. Once he was back at home, our veterinarian had us switch him from his

| cat rant (when is it time to put a cat down?) | 11 Feb 2006 16:07 GMT | 13 |
Several months ago Spam, my 14 year old, was peeing on the floor near the catpans so we took him in for a checkup. He has early stage renal failure and heart problems, is on a special diet and Atenolol for his heart, and seems to be improved since starting the meds.

I'm caring for a friend's cat for a couple of weeks. I've noticed the telltale "rice grains" around the cat's backside before, but didn't know what it was. Clearly my friend didn't know either or else I wouldn't have to post tis message. Anyway, last night, after using the

| Cat aggression against son | 11 Feb 2006 02:23 GMT | 7 |
Pattern, our family female 3 year old indoor cat, just spayed week ago, viciously attacked our 10 year son last night. He suffered two gashes from her in his head, requiring trip to emergency room. Stitches required. Also, scratches close to eye and others on sides of his back.

| Cat with low level infection | 10 Feb 2006 22:39 GMT | 2 |
My youngest cat (born in September 2002) was taken to the vet today because she was licking herself a lot and had some whitish vaginal discharge. I was afraid it might be pyometra, because she hasn't been fixed but stays indoors (trust me, I know that was stupid - no need to

| Scheduled Feedings--Unexpected Benefits | 10 Feb 2006 18:29 GMT | 12 |
I've posted about my tuxedo cat Boo's dramatic weight loss and improved mood and health since I put her on an all-canned diet in scheduled feedings every 12 hours, reducing the amount I fed her by 1/4 until she achieved her desired weight.

| Scottie is hospitalized with FUO | 10 Feb 2006 16:58 GMT | 11 |
My almost 9 year old orange kitty, Scottie, became ill suddenly on Wednesday. He was perfectly normal in the morning. That night there were outdoor neighborhood cats outside howling and Scottie seemed peculiar, kind of distant and preoccupied, and I thought it had to do

| Uooo GROSS! | 10 Feb 2006 07:51 GMT | 8 |
My cat was just in my lap and when she moved over there was a shiny, white worm wiggling. It was no more than 1/2 inch long. She's been shedding a few of those rice looking things once in a while. My other cat that had those lost lots of them and I got some meds for him. Do
