Gingivitis - Important info to share04 Jan 2006 07:23 GMT4
I posted a while back about my newly adopted cat Freckles, who is 3.
When we first brought him to the vet, he noted severe gingivitis and
suggested a dental cleaning.  I wanted him to settle into our home
first.  So, after 3 weeks I brought him in (last week).  The unusual

My private psych ward04 Jan 2006 02:36 GMT25
I need it... it has been 3 weeks and a day now since my dog, Holly,
was killed, apparently by a car.  I found her in the front yard, all
but unconscious, and took her to the emergency vet where she lived
just long enough to cost me $1,000.  The vet thought he was dealing

cat mouth/tooth problem?04 Jan 2006 01:34 GMT1
One of my cats has for the last 2-3 days been making strange
mouth/tongue motions, sometimes today even pawing at it, yet she
doesn't seem to be in any pain or real agony, and is eating and doing
everything else normally. I imagine it's probably a loose tooth which
Question regarding cat dental issues03 Jan 2006 17:22 GMT13
When I got my beloved Annie (see photos as
http://www.geocities.com/eastmountainsmusic/stories.html#rainbow ) she
was an orphan in Austin.  My cat previous to her, Edward, had died
after being with me for 16 years.  So I was looking for another friend,
Hyperthyroid cat (update)03 Jan 2006 14:35 GMT31
All,
Mixed results with my cat that we recently decided to treat with meds
verses radiation.  She's been on her meds, twice a day, for about a
month.  The vet called after her last workup and said to reduce to
Need a fondling lesson03 Jan 2006 06:26 GMT25
I recently adopted a pair of calico sisters, a year old. Neither one
especially likes to be picked up and held, turning into 12-legged
felines if I try. Due to coyotes in the neighbourhood, they are indoor
cats.
I can feel my cat's spine, very boney in that region, confused and concerned!03 Jan 2006 03:01 GMT8
I own 2 cats.  They are both 13 years old.  One cat is has developed  a
very boney spine.  I mean that one cat has a lot more meat and its
harder to detect his spine.  The other has only a thin layer of skin
and you can fell his spine.  Is this a disease anybody is aware off?I
hepatic lipidosis03 Jan 2006 02:06 GMT3
Our cat Katie is a very sick kitty.  She was grinding her teeth after
eating for a while, and then quit eating and lost quite a bit of
weight.  When we got her in to see the vet, they tested quite a bit of
things and concluded she did have a bit of liver disease, but agreed
Mephisto's urethroplasty02 Jan 2006 21:01 GMT7
My favourite and much-beloved cat, Mephisto, has returned home last
Wednesday after undergoing urethroplasty (practicing another hole in the
urethra) and staying at the vet's during Christmas.
He suffered three complete and life-threatening urinary blockages last
alternatives to thermal cushion?02 Jan 2006 20:13 GMT1
Meep absolutely loves her thermal cushion.  With the colder weather,
she's practically living on the thing.
I'd like to put another one downstairs, but they're too big for where I
want to put it (on her favorite window spot).
Espy looking better!02 Jan 2006 19:31 GMT4
Reasonably good news. The drooling has stopped and he's eating some.
He wasn't eating is regular ProPlan stuff that he usually likes
(salmon and rice) so I gave him the emergency can of 9 Lives and he
devoured the crap. He still isn't eating his Temptations (yellow bag)
Cat scratch warning02 Jan 2006 17:41 GMT1
I guess quite a few households may be acquiring a new puss at this time of
year, so thought I'd post a warning of the danger of cat bites and scratches
for those who may end up on the sharp end of their cat!
On Thursday morning a friend with dogs called at the house. Our ginger ...
Bronchoscopy -- how safe?02 Jan 2006 16:14 GMT1
We've scheduled a procedure for our cat to see about the details of her
chronic cough. We have a choice of either a bronchoscopy or a wash.
Hubby is concerned about the safety of the bronchoscopy but I think it's
the right thing to do.
