Lump under chin... Allergy?04 Dec 2005 23:13 GMT3
Tiger, the 11 year old moggie, has developed a lump under his chin. He
gets these from time to time, but this seems a bit larger than normal.
I know about carcinomas that occur in injection sites, and "breast
cancer" that happens with females, and "cat acne" that can happen with
How do cats behave with Spiders and Snakes?04 Dec 2005 23:13 GMT8
Hello friends, I am moving to Arizona and want to hear your experiences on
the following:
1. How to pest-proof the home against black widows, scorpions and snakes.
2. How do cats react when they see these creatures? Attack? Run?

Cranberry Juice and cats?04 Dec 2005 12:06 GMT1
As some of you may know, I started a thread about my Samba's urinary tract
infection last week. I want to thank all of you who responded to that thread
for a lot of useful information!
I had a conversation with a friend, Clive, who had an idea for an unusual
They're So CUTE When They Wrestle03 Dec 2005 08:12 GMT2
OK, this probably seems like such a stark contrast to my last message
"mousetraps," but really I like my cats (I just strongly insist they stay
off things I ask them to, that's all). Am I the only one that thinks it is
so cute when they wrestle each other? I think it's the cutest ...
3rd UPDATE (LONG!), Was: Advice Needed for Adopting Adult Cats03 Dec 2005 06:42 GMT8
It's been almost 6 months since I posted for advice about adopting
adult cats, and I'm overdue for an update.  We adopted two adult boys
listed on Petfinders, and here's what's going on with them today.
"Smitty" (blue point siamese mix) and his brother were dumped at a

A cat's eating behavior...03 Dec 2005 01:18 GMT3
Hi there! Long-time lurker finally asking a question! :-)
I have two adult cats I feed wet food twice daily, once in the morning
and once in the evening. Cat #1 will eat her fill when I put the bowl
down, but cat #2 will keep going back until she literally licks the

Urine PH02 Dec 2005 21:39 GMT3
Does anyone know what urine PH is normally -- I think I read 6.5?
If a cat's urine needs to be "slightly" acidic due to a tendency towards
struvite crystals, what is a good number for his PH?
Thanks,
Cheryl-IS-a Freak02 Dec 2005 15:40 GMT4
It's not fair for anyone to single out one single person and call them
a freak.
Sorry that someone keeps doing this Cheryl and I tell ya, I only used
that subj line
UTI and Hairball Lite food02 Dec 2005 12:28 GMT7
I seem to remember some correlation between UIT and Hairball Lite food but
googled and couldn't find it. It was quite a while ago that I thought I saw
the comments so my memory might be faulty.
My Isabelle has started peeing in the hall again. She undoubtedly has
Antihistamine for cats?02 Dec 2005 03:04 GMT30
One of my cats apparently has allergies.  I recall being told years ago
that antihistamines didn't work in cats, but now I'm reading some things
that suggest that they do work. But I haven't found anything very specific.
Are there veterinary antihistamines available or are people ...
update - interstitial cystitis02 Dec 2005 00:07 GMT2
History: about 3 weeks ago our 3 year old neutered DSH cat had a
urinary blockage, which was quickly cleared, but resulted in on-going
problems with bladder irritation and thickening of the bladder wall.
Well, it's kinda good news.  Spock had a sterile urine sample taken
