Let the Punishment Fit the Crime18 Nov 2005 07:03 GMT9
On my long commute home from work I listen to the news to catch up on
the day. Today they announced a story about a judge that sentenced a
woman who had abandoned some cats in a park to a night of the same
fate - a night abandoned somewhere without food or shelter. The rest
strange hairless patch18 Nov 2005 04:28 GMT8
Jasmine developed a strange patch of fur on her cheek, it is roundish,
looked irritated, some of the fur has fallen out and looked slightly swollen
with some scratches as it was obviously itchy. She hasn't been outside at
all for about 6 to 8 weeks, and hasn't been around any other ...
Bach Rescue Remedy for kitten?18 Nov 2005 03:00 GMT10
Bach's Rescue Remedy came highly recommended by two other cat owners I
know. Upon further investigation it appears the mixture is carried in
alcohol. My gut tells me any relaxing effect has to do with the alcohol
and not the flowers. All I'm looking for is a non-sedative way of
I'm really worried about my cat...17 Nov 2005 22:28 GMT6
I've posted a little recently about my oldest cat Spam.  He was
diagnosed with early CRT and cardiomyopathy.  He's on a renal food diet
for the renal failure and atenolol for the heart.
The reason I took him to the vet in the first place was because he was
vet recommendations in boston?17 Nov 2005 21:17 GMT1
can anyone recommend a vet for a kitten in boston, preferably around
jamaica plain?
Maine Coon Mix behavior17 Nov 2005 20:03 GMT19
I am a registered vet tech and also a 2nd year vet student and I have "Simon"
who I have fostered since he was 3 weeks old and was found in a dumpster by
some clients at our emergency clinic where I work.
He is a DLH although I am starting to suspect he is mixed with Maine Coon as
Jasmine's heart checkup17 Nov 2005 19:54 GMT8
LOL, no definitive answer. (::::scream::::)
My vet did a very thorough heart listen, checked pulse and so on.
There's no murmur or anything suggestive of disease. It's all very
normal.
cheapest source for Albuterol & Flovent17 Nov 2005 19:05 GMT16
Hi. My cat has asthma that's getting worse. I just ordered an AeroKat
inhaler. Now I need to buy the medications. Here are the particulars for
those in the know:
Albuterol: 90ucg/puff; quantity: 6.7g #1
November is Adopt-a-Senior Month17 Nov 2005 17:41 GMT1
November is adopt-a senior month and one of the staff writers for the local
newspaper is doing a story about senior cats. The hope is that the article
will inspire some people to adopt senior cats.
I know it's late in the month (I just learned about this), but I thought
Food for urinary tract17 Nov 2005 04:56 GMT4
Abernathy is pretty healthy again. Today his urine was rechecked and the
red and white blood cells are gone - yeah! He does still have some
struvite crystals, but not as many.
So, the vet would like us to feed him food that acidifies his urine. He
Rice looking stuff17 Nov 2005 03:55 GMT47
One of my cats has started leaving what looks like white rice on a chair
that only he uses. Can you tell me what this is and more importantly
what I should do. Scamp is one of 5 indoor/outdoor cats and I have 2
others that are indoor only so I don't want this to spread to the rest.
Thanks for your advice on caring for strays17 Nov 2005 02:17 GMT9
Our newest stray, who I've named "Ringo" because of his prominent,
ringed tail, seems to be doing quite well, even though we can't
provide a home indoors for him.
We bought a pet carrier from a local thrift store, and lined it with
Cod liver oil?16 Nov 2005 19:54 GMT4
Is this okay for cats? Sarrasine bolted with a capsule of it the othr
day and after batting it round for a bit ended up with her paws coated
in it. She licked it off and seemed to really be enjoying it. I
remember a friend of mine used to give her cat cod liver oil capsules
Automatic Feeders & Waterers16 Nov 2005 19:47 GMT22
I was wondering if anyone here has ever used those automatic feeders and
water dispensers for cats? I was thinking of getting a couple for my 3 cats
as I might be leaving for Las Vegas for a few days. I am considering a
sitter come in but don't know any I could trust as they ...
Cats and mental illness - brief analysis of the research16 Nov 2005 19:46 GMT10
One has to wonder why Dr. E Fuller Torrey has, for thirty years,
continued to promote his theory that cats cause schizophrenia and other
psychiatric illness. He claims to simply be a believer and on a
scientific quest, but I don't buy it.
