Diarrhea?22 Nov 2005 12:09 GMT3
Louis has had some pretty unpleasant bowel movements lately. The only
change to his routine has been a diet of Wellness dry food for about
three days while we scrambled our schedules to get out to the one
store in the vicinity which carries the wet Wellness that he's used
Help! My husband's cat hates me!22 Nov 2005 04:35 GMT64
I was recently married, and we have joined households - two cats each.
My two cats like my husband very much, and the feeling is mutual. His
little female is skittish but warming up to me. The problem is his male
- aged two years, neutered. This cat has a history of minor aggressive

Dear magic cat group
I know you can answer all things
I have observed that male cats do not put out a smell after they are
neutered
Cat's droppings around the house22 Nov 2005 01:36 GMT8
Hiya!
My new cat Simbah does not clean after himself too well. There are
often droppings around the house and today, I finally stepped on one!
My understanding is that either he is constipated or that his fur
Cat themed gifts for Christmas21 Nov 2005 22:05 GMT6
Ok I know there was a subject about this a while back but I just wondered
where everyone is getting their essential Christmas cat themed gifts.
I particularly after a set of tables mats (for my table not the cat!!) with
a black cat silhouette design or black paw prints design -  ...
Cat Starving Himself After Urinary Tract Blockage21 Nov 2005 21:37 GMT21
Our nine year old male domestic shorthair had a urinary tract blockage
back in July.  He had a large, walnut-sized stone in his bladder.  It
was touch and go for a couple of weeks, but he was strong and healthy
and seemed to recover fully.  After six weeks, there were no signs ...
Cat - Worms21 Nov 2005 19:58 GMT14
I've got a two-year old cat.  For the past month she's been hiding on
us, not wanting to play and such.  We took her to the doctor three
times for a diagnosis (bloodwork, feces, x-rays) - she's been on two
different antibiotics with no help.  Then suddendly we were at the vet
Neutered male urinary blockage21 Nov 2005 18:48 GMT4
With new postings on urinary blockage in males, especially neutered ones, a
question comes to mind. The vet who dealt with my cat years back also told
me that he was opposed to extremely early neutering - 10 - 12 weeks of age.
His view was that the males need to grow and develop ...
It's academic. No more PJ21 Nov 2005 18:04 GMT8
As a sometime lurker on this ng, I wanted to say thanks to the people
here who post their cat questions, knowledge, stories.  It's kind of
felt like being part of a community.
Twelve days ago, now, we lost our cat PJ.  I say "lost," but I mean we
Urinary Blockage21 Nov 2005 16:44 GMT5
I had to bring Elwood into the emergency clinic tonight.
It started when I got home this afternoon, I noticed he was kind of
crawling around, and crying. So, I brought him in, and they say he has
a urinary blockage, and they have to keep him overnight.
'Tis the Season21 Nov 2005 15:14 GMT7
We had a cold snap and I ordered a 1/2 cord of firewood and had a
couple of fires.  It's official: Kami is spoiled.  I got up this
morning and she promptly went to the fireplace and sat in front of it
gazing into the cool blackness. then she looked at me as if to say,
steroid question21 Nov 2005 06:26 GMT4
Hi all.  Cali, my Calico I adopted in April has had a mouth infection/ulcers
since August.
She's gotten her 3rd shot of steroids (Depo-something) and her mouth has
healed up
I don't want to give her away, but she just won't stop urinating!21 Nov 2005 05:43 GMT12
I have a one and half year old tabby cat, that I adopted from the
humane society when she was 8 weeks old. I also have a 3 year old cat
that doesn't generally seem to be to bothered by the little one. I
changed residences about 7 months ago and in the past 4 months have
Rabid Cats21 Nov 2005 04:28 GMT24
This sounds silly, but I didn't know cats could carry rabies.
You just never hear of it I guess.
I suppose caution should be used when handling strays.
a neurotic question20 Nov 2005 22:27 GMT11
Ok, it's like this. I have this 2 and one half yr. old cat that I recently
adopted. I had my husband hold her with a towel wrapped around her and I
proceeded to clip her claws. Well, she didn't like it at all, and hissed and
fought, and bit. Ok, here comes the neurotic part. Do i ...
