Had to put our cat down this morning :(11 Oct 2005 03:24 GMT17
Early this morning our two-year old Maine Coon mix, Kenshin, started
making weird noises, gasping for breath and lost use of his two hind
legs.  We rushed him to the Michigan State University Small Animal
Clinic where he was diagnosed as having congestive heart failure.  We
Jasmine (again)11 Oct 2005 03:03 GMT1
Hi everyone...update on Jasmine...she's following me around constantly,
licking me (or biting, depending on her mood) and going through my cupboards
at odd hours of the night. So I'm expecting kittens soon. I'm setting up her
own room, so she can have privacy with the kittens, and ...
Re: Question about spaying (update)11 Oct 2005 02:49 GMT1
Thank you everyone for your posts.  I'm planning on taking my kitty to the
Mobile Spay Station this month to get her fixed.  I had actually taken her
the same time that I got my boy kitty fixed, but they ran out of
appointments right after they took him.  So, I'm going to get ...
cat offended by closed doors09 Oct 2005 20:02 GMT9
I have a one year old neutered male cat who is totally offended by
closed doors.  Due to our odd sleep schedules, we often nap in the
afternoon.  When one of us lays down, we close the door because the
cat, Charley, is likely to come in and play around or talk.  He's
Am I being selfish and unkind?09 Oct 2005 17:07 GMT16
Our little old boy (now 16 and a half) was diagnosed with
hyperthyroidism last January.  Unfortunately, he also had underlying
CRF and when he was given medication for the hyperT his kidneys
couldn`t take it.  We tried different drugs and dosages, but each time
My cat  poops in my bathroom!09 Oct 2005 15:42 GMT15
I have a female cat thats almost 2 years old and recently she has been
pooping in my bathroom. She has done it about 3 times, and its all around the
same spot. She has never done this before. She has had two litters of kittens,
I dont know if that would have anything to do with it. ...
Squirrel Friend Shock. Lil guy is alive09 Oct 2005 14:59 GMT20
Okay, I feel really stupid now after getting all friggin worked up.
This morning was one of those mornings during mournings when you wake
up fine, then suddenly you remember the Horrible Thing that just
happened.
Abbey is camping out09 Oct 2005 13:43 GMT4
Her Uncle Henry (my mom's cat) never liked the very cute tent his mom
bought him so I brought it back to Phoenix with me.  None of my 3 are
all that thrilled with it either but they will go in it if we throw
treats in there.  However, the other morning Abbey was laying in there
Is this wrong?09 Oct 2005 01:31 GMT13
When I first got Jazz, she started out in the bathroom (a large
bathroom) while I did the introduction to Jack. Now she's out 100
percent and she still goes into the bathroom to play. (She's fascinated
by the toilet and tub)
Jack and Jazz update08 Oct 2005 15:55 GMT15
Well Jazz and Jack continue to get to know one another. Jazz positively
adores Jack and won't leave him alone. He wasn't happy about it at
first, but he's getting used to her and tolerates it. Sometimes, he
even likes it. She's obsessed with his tail.
What do YOU do with strays in your neighborhood?08 Oct 2005 12:17 GMT10
There's a un-fixed tom wandering our neighborhood that gets our cats
all whipped up.
I've watched him for a few weeks and he's always run away. Tonight
though it's pretty cold here, and we saw him when we pulled into our
How old to adopt a kitten08 Oct 2005 11:23 GMT15
Can a kitten of 6-8 weeks be successfully adopted and be a normal grown
cat?
I have heard that they must be at least 3 months old.  Is this true.
How old to have them neutered.
The Portland cat (long update)08 Oct 2005 06:32 GMT24
You might remember the 3-year old orange tabby I posted about. He was
trapped by us as a 10-week old feral, kept for 3 weeks and "tamed", got
his shots, etc., then went to a new home in Portland. She moved 3 mos.
ago and left him with a co-worker. Abernathy reverted to feral-mode ...
bf's cat allergies08 Oct 2005 01:33 GMT1
Does anyone have a good non-prescrip solution for itchy skin?  My bf is
allergic, and benadryl didn't help him at all.

Thermacare Wrap on Kami08 Oct 2005 00:22 GMT36
I was using a thermacare wrap for my neck because my car was totalled
with me in it a week ago, and when it started to fizzle out, I plopped
it over Kami's shoulders.  She seemed to really like it.  I know she
loves the heating pad to sleep on in the windert (with lots of padding ...
