older cat with possible arthritis31 Oct 2005 18:59 GMT5
I swear, when it rains it pours... just as we might be getting one
cat's conjunctivitis under control, another cat gets happy time with the
vet ;)
My cat Spam is about 13 years old.  When he was a kitten, he had
scooting31 Oct 2005 18:02 GMT33
Kitty, my 15 pound young male cat was in the litter box as usual.
This time, as he exited the closet where the litter box is kept, he
scooted his butt on the floor for about 2 feet, leaving a skidmark.
He scurried across the floor and did the same thing again. I was a
Abbey purred!31 Oct 2005 17:51 GMT11
She hadn't purred for almost 6 months.  She was diagnosed with
chylothorax and fibrosing pleuritis (scarring of her lungs from the
chyle sitting in her chest cavity) in May.  She had a *very* grave
prognosis, had her chest drained twice, was supposed to die.  The 2
Abernathy (orange guy) update, and question re:  UTI 31 Oct 2005 05:54 GMT29
Abernathy is becoming just a regular cat in the household. A week ago,
he even crawled into my lap for a snuggle, and purred like a truck! He
spent time laying between me and the arm of the chair, and he was
completely upside down. He was 4 paws to the wind.
cat wants company while eating31 Oct 2005 05:30 GMT15
Stinky, one of my cats at work, is starting up with a behavior she has
shown on & off over the last few years.  She likes to eat in her own
little "safe zone" at the back of the basement, where her bed & cat
furniture is.
VENT!!!31 Oct 2005 04:00 GMT14
I subscribe to the local Freecycle list, and I saw a post today that pissed
me off!
The gist of it is that the woman's 9 yr old boy's cat was killed by a car
and he will be heartbroken.  So, she wants to surprise him with a bunny for
I guess I've been adopted (ie front porch "gifts")30 Oct 2005 23:40 GMT5
There are a few wandering cats in our neighborhood.. hard to tell
who's a stray and who's a poor schmuck whose owner lets them roam.
One guy, a ring-tailed tabby, seems to have a particular fondness for
us. He's most often seen.
Bought Nature's Variety Canned (95% meat) and they dont like it!30 Oct 2005 19:27 GMT4
I bought them the duck, lamb and venison varieties.
Very expensive, very good stuff,  the idiot cats still prefer
the dry food.
What the f.ck?!

Cat pooping outside litterbox29 Oct 2005 11:56 GMT8
My boyfriend's cat has started to poop outside its litterbox.  The cat is
male, three almost four years old, and is neutered.  It was just at the vet
about two weeks ago and he's healthy, so that isn't an issue.  But his
roommate brought over a dog this weekend, which caused the cat ...

It's now been six years since Ike walked out the door and never
returned.

My cat keeps licking plastic bags!29 Oct 2005 10:40 GMT18
Anyone have any thoughts about my female cat doing this?  She doesn't try to
eat it, but she loves to lick any sort of plastic bag (like grocery bags or
garbage bags).  Is she lacking in some supplement that makes her want to do
this?
Phil P - what you recommend from Purina29 Oct 2005 07:24 GMT127
Phil P, what do you recommend for a dry food from Purina?
I got a free coupon after I pointed out the mistakes in what
info they were giving out over the phone. I think they give
free coupons often.
Cat poops when he doesn't get soft food29 Oct 2005 06:24 GMT7
My cat Snowball and his brother Squirrell love getting soft food as a treat.
My wife feeds them on a paper plate.
Now, after several years of a routine, they beg everytime we go into the
kitchen.  My wife only gives them the food once per day.  Snowball now wants
