Just adopted a 3yr.old from a shelter; and need to learn about caring for
cats. Is there a website or a book you recommend. A few ques. I have are:
1. Her fur is not shiny, and she has dry skin- do I bathe her
2. What about cat insurance? Does it cover well care and shots, or just
Cat eats all the time22 Sep 2005 05:01 GMT4
I thought only dogs kept eating even when they are full. I was the one
who started the thread about the cat with the hanging belly. Everytime
I turn around this cat is at the food. It's dry food and always left
out for him. I have no idea how old the cat is as our former tenants
Litter tracking too much22 Sep 2005 03:12 GMT2
I have the enclosed litter box where there is a clear flap door and
kitty goes in and out.   Otherwise my kitty likes to dig hard and just
make litter fly outside.
I am having too much problem with the litter being tracked.
FIV?22 Sep 2005 01:23 GMT2
I have beautiful cat appropriately named 'Friend' that may have come
down with FIP.  He's a loving friend, never having seen a lap he didn't
like (even on non cat-lovers). My other four cats, while I love them,
only notice my existence upon feeding time.
not interested in cat tree?21 Sep 2005 21:48 GMT13
Hi, my kitten is really not interested in any toy unless I am there to
fling it around.  His favorite is the grey fur mouse on a string that
looked more realistic.  I would very rarely catch him playing with a
feathered toy, and he will not touch any of those fake dolls with
Bubbels?21 Sep 2005 18:29 GMT4
Don't want to start a group-wide panic, but I think Bubbels is gone.
Or else it's just my computer wacking out. I've tried the last couple
of days and get no response from the website.
Would someone else check for me?
My big fat feline brother21 Sep 2005 13:50 GMT25
After much chasing, we got my mom's cat, Henry, to the vet today.  He
weighs 17.9 pounds.  He is 35 percent over his ideal weight and is now
on Hill's r/d canned and dry.  He's supposed to lose 5 pounds over the
next several months.  He got his distemper and rabies shot (state law
New kitten concern21 Sep 2005 08:43 GMT5
Picked a new kitten up today from the rescue centre. She's 15 weeks
old. Now she's home we've noticed her eyes have a clear discharge and
she sneezes occasionally.
She's had all her jabs. Is it anything we should be worried about?
Sibling rivalry21 Sep 2005 06:48 GMT4
My wife and I adopted two female litter-mates from the shelter in
January;  born October seventh last year; spayed before we took them
home; calico and grey tiger-striped mix.
Coie has a little more of the calico coloring on her face and Callie

did not want the poor thing to starve, so i started feeding it. i shut
off the entrance it was using to the garage and it ended up living

Kitty crack21 Sep 2005 00:54 GMT3
I was ordering something from PetsMart, so I also ordered three
varieties of Whiskas Temptations. Hodge liked and ate the chicken but
didn't go quite as nutso as I'd hoped. And this a cat who will literally
try to get food out of your mouth if you let him get too close . . .
Older cat sleeps a lot21 Sep 2005 00:40 GMT2
We have three cats, the oldest is 9 years old and sleeps much
more than the two younger cats.  Is is normal for older cats
to do a lot of sleeping?
