I adopted a 2nd kitten about the same age as the first, (5 months, both

Generic Wheat litter28 Sep 2005 23:42 GMT8
Because I have access to umlimited wheat (Palouse area of E.Washington)
I was curious if I could use the raw wheat product
for litter or is the commercial stuff treated with something that makes
it clump?
Does my cat need a behaviorist? a psychiatrist?28 Sep 2005 23:37 GMT10
My cat Bartleby, 3 year-old male, all black, is a strange kitty.  He is the
alpha-male of my cat family (5 cats total).  He is definately the boss of
the cats, they let him eat first, if he indicates he wants someone else's
toy, he gets it, etc.  But with me, he acts like a baby.  ...

Does anyone know why my 9yo male cat would have episodes of loud
gulping (maybe 20 swallows at a time) along with some kind of dry
coughing? His purring and meows have changed too--the purring is
rougher and the meows are just different(?).  He has no problem

Homemade cat food28 Sep 2005 05:17 GMT8
I have been wondering about making my cat's food myself. I would like to
feed her something that is fresh, nutritious, and with no additives or
unknown ingredients. Here is a list of ingredients I was thinking of using.

Cat nose is red and sides starting to open-up28 Sep 2005 04:35 GMT4
My roommate's cat's nose has started turning a brownish color over the
last week, and today I noticed it's more read, puffy, and the top/sides
of his nose are starting to kinda open up.  It's not bloody or pussy
from what I can tell, but it definitly isn't normal.
Soft, slimey stools?28 Sep 2005 02:12 GMT7
Ever since Mollie was diagnosed with tonsillitis a few weeks back, her
stools have been soft.
The tonsillitis cleared up within a couple of days, but these stools have
remained.  We thought it might have been the antibiotics, but it would have
vomit outside litter box?28 Sep 2005 02:10 GMT3
Is there any connection about my kitten throwing up in proximity near
the litter box?  Few days ago I saw a few dry food pellets with liquid
threw up just outside of the litter box.  Today I saw the exact same
thing in the exact same spot.    The pellets are just barely wet and
Happy Birthday Stella!27 Sep 2005 19:55 GMT2
Our Stella is two years old today. She started her day with a walk
along the top of the door and a run around with her sister. Her present
this year is a little ball that chirps and rolls around by itself. She
seems to have all the other toys. So far today, all she's done is sleep

Need Advice on Injured Paw/Missing Claw27 Sep 2005 06:40 GMT14
2 weeks ago my 2 year old indoor-only Manx "Gray" managed to rip out his
front right index claw.  After 2-3 days it started to smell terrible so off
to the vet we went.  The vet said it may or may not grow back, and
prescribed Amoxi drops to fight off infection.
Harriet update, back in the hospital27 Sep 2005 03:42 GMT46
I took Harriet to the cats only vet this morning.  She still wasn't able to
go to the bathroom since her last hospitalization on Tuesday/Wednesday.  I
called the cat vet this morning and they said I could drop her off between
8:00-9:30am.  It was already 8:15, and it takes me ...

Dear fellow cat-lovers,
I was wondering if anyone could advise, or if you've been in a similar
