Anyone read Fear Familiar?27 Aug 2005 03:56 GMT4
Any of my book chat friends still around?
We've talked about books with cats as characters before.  Someone at
work loaned me a book that is part of a series called Fear Familiar.
Familiar is a black cat detective.  It seemed a little insipid at first

I'm back and have a question 26 Aug 2005 22:17 GMT1
Well the last I was here my cat Buddy was one sick little guy.  Happy to
report he is vastly improved.  His liver is much better and his thyroid is
finally under control.  He's even putting on some weight again.
He is still FIV positive of course.  So far we've managed to keep his ...
Nocturne26 Aug 2005 18:12 GMT2

This is Nocturne.  As you can see, my father-in-law irritates and
disgusts her.  He is human.  Humans are stupid, obnoxious creatures,
and if they do not serve her, then she has no use for them.
Mouthing behaviour26 Aug 2005 11:03 GMT7
What does a cat mouthing/nibbling on it's owner signify? Often I'll be
lying in bed in the morning half asleep and my 2 year old cat George
will often nibble/mouth exposed parts of my body. It doesn't hurt at
all, sometimes he'll do it while he's headbutting me. Just a light
will 110V kill a 1 1/2 pound kitten?26 Aug 2005 05:15 GMT15
Hi,  I have seen some discussion here on how to stop cats chewing
electrical cords.  I have a slightly different question on the subject.
I have a 6 week old kitten, 1 1/2 pounds now, and he loves to bite and
scratch electrical cords.  I sprayed lots of some bitter-tasting
cats and pregnant ladies26 Aug 2005 01:09 GMT7
My younger cat Stella is freaking me out. I am five months pregnant and
she will not leave my tummy alone. She sniffs it, cuddles her forehead
to it, sleeps on it, puts a paw on it and flexes her toes. At night, I
can't keep her off me at night and she is a little furnace! Do you
Harriet is back in the hospital25 Aug 2005 11:57 GMT19
Harriest is a very constipated/backed-up cat who lives in a bookstore.
She was brought to the vet on August 4th and kept until the 6th,
because she was having trouble going to the bathroom.  She was sent
home with Eukanuba Low Residue food and Lactulose.

Anyone else have a cat with autoimmune disease?25 Aug 2005 03:15 GMT4
I have a little female Siamese of some variety, and undetermined age.  She
was a discard, dumped in the country when no longer wanted, and she suffers
from a number of autoimmune conditions.  I'd be interested in hearing from
anyone else who has faced this challenge.  Even though ...
Bi-polar cat? (declawed)25 Aug 2005 01:06 GMT13
I've been visiting Chloe, a six year old, spayed female moggie -
recently transplanted to our house. She is very friendly, coming
immediately to my lap and purring.
When I pet her, she squirms happily, but will suddenly hiss or lash
Flushing Clumping Litter24 Aug 2005 19:34 GMT17
I'm new to caring for cats. Can I scoop out the waste from a litter box
filled with clumping litter, sift it and flush it? The only litter I'm
flushing is that clinging to the waste. It seems I should be able to,
bit I'm asking as my toilet seems to be clogging a bit from doing that ...
dried feces24 Aug 2005 13:07 GMT3

these. our long haired cat has a small collecetion of these around his
rear end. cut off with a sissor or a razor blade? Is it a task for a
groomer or a vet?
