OMG, cat gives me heart attack06 Jun 2005 06:40 GMT11
Around 9am today, Licorice, our black cat, was sitting up on the
bathroom sink staring into the towel closet. When she was a kitten, she
and her siblings lived in the bathroom for awhile, so I thought she was
remembering her favorite shelf hidey spot.
Peeing outside litter box06 Jun 2005 06:16 GMT4
I have a 12 month old female (and two siblings) who I found at two
months old. This cat has herpes and gingivitis (or some tooth problem).
Recently, she started peeing outside of her litter box (twice a day)
and I can't figure out why. She has been to the vet and a UTI (or
screen doors06 Jun 2005 05:05 GMT5
1st time cat-owner here...my cat is an indoor cat exclusively.  my house
does not have air-conditioning and can get very hot in the summer.. are cats
able to scratch their way or force themselves through a screen door or
window??
Cats are not my only "pets"05 Jun 2005 22:43 GMT4
This photo is fuzzy because it was taken through a window and screen
with maximum zoom on the camera.

Raspy cough, tests ongoing...05 Jun 2005 17:39 GMT57
Hi Group,
I'm a new poster to this group although I have been lurking for some
time now. I usualy hang out in rec.games.pinball. I/we have five cats
that were all homeless/rescued, they found us.
pawing the ground05 Jun 2005 03:29 GMT8
I have noticed that the cat will often sniff her food and that starts
pawing the ground around her bowl (similiar to litter box covering).  I had
previously thought that this was there way to say, 'no way' to the food but
she just comes back later and eats it.  Is she just trying to ...
cats and olives... 05 Jun 2005 02:54 GMT7
What gives here? I've known three cats that go completely insane for
olives - our Stella being the latest. She won't beg or touch human food
except olives.  She can smell them at 100 paces and if she gets nearer, she
starts to salivate! So much so it was dripping from her little ...
What breed is this little kitty?05 Jun 2005 01:35 GMT26
Was just in my warehouse and when I moved a bag of packing material I got
growled at from underneath it by a little kitty. It didn't run and allowed
me to pick it up. Looking at it I would imagine it's not a general moggie,
the most striking thing are the huge eyes.
Does Mama ever abandon the litte?05 Jun 2005 01:13 GMT4
I have a feral family out in my back yard under a shed.  The three kits are
eight or nine weeks old now and I've been providing the whole family kitten
chow and water since they were about three weeks old. The kits are
semi-socialized (one is almost tame), but the mother is totally ...
Foot stomping05 Jun 2005 01:13 GMT5
Hodge is in one of his affectionate, underfoot moods. Which means I've
accidentally stepped on his feet a few times today. Now he's giving me
that, "I want to be close to you but you're going to step on me, aren't
you?" look. Sigh.
Newbie questions, cat food05 Jun 2005 00:03 GMT20
I am complete newbie and just discovered this group. Therefore, I'd
like to ask a few questions. I realize that even among the experienced
there may be no consensus. When that is the case, I'd opt for
diversity, so no error is compounded too much.
We're Back!!!04 Jun 2005 23:33 GMT32
Kami and I have returned from our nearly 4-month excursion to Los
Angeles.  The old fart still surprised me handling the long two-day car
ride out and back.  I was prepared to make each way three days for
shorter time in the car, but as she didn't complain, I kept on driving.
Looks like Fatass has Chornic Renal Failure04 Jun 2005 21:16 GMT13
Background, 16 year cat, was my mom's until she passed away last year -
has been drinking a lot and eating litter.
We went to the vet today - she is dehydrated and the blood test
revelaved elevated kidney values and a high calcium level.  She also
Introducing a 3rd Cat - I think we're getting there..04 Jun 2005 18:11 GMT1
Just to give an update on how Vanessa (my adopted stray cat) is doing.
It's now been 9 or so days since her spay operation, and I am letting
her wander around the house freely to explore while I am around. It's
time, I think.
