"Poor Henry" pics and others from Megan's17 Jun 2005 00:32 GMT9
Frankly, the reason I'm going on about this is cuz some people on this
newsgroup ACTUALLY LIKE cats, and don't come here to steal other
folks' lunch money. Also, since most people nowadays look at Usenet
through Google, I enjoy giving the trolls a chance to stand out in the
conan is recovering well16 Jun 2005 22:45 GMT2
and will be up for adoption tomorrow.
The woman I spoke to on the phone is named Jessica and if we are
interested in trying to get this cat out of the shelter and into Mary's
home (or anyone else) we should contact her supervisor, "Terry" (Teri?).
Genetics paper on SE Asian origin of Abyssinians???16 Jun 2005 19:07 GMT18
I have seen many statements like those quoted below on webpages
about Abyssinians... but none of them actually gives any references
for these "genetic studies".  Does anybody have the details of the
published scientific papers (if any) that described these findings?
Photos16 Jun 2005 19:02 GMT2
At the risk of sounding stupid, can someone tell me how to upload
photos onto groups.  I would like you to see one or two of my Tobes and
Dillon, but dont know how to go about it.
Thanks
Phil P. - give us newbies your story16 Jun 2005 06:26 GMT66
Good god man - you seem like the quintessential Usenet
Kook/paraplegic/schizophrenic/mom's basement dweller.
Some of us don't have time to follow the gazillions of posts in anger
you've submitted (God forbid.. we're just looking up how to help cats)
Cats - Plague - Immunizations16 Jun 2005 06:24 GMT8
I was wondering if there is an expert out there that could answer a question
I have.  I live near the Navajo Reservation in Arizona and recently a cat
was found on the reservation with plague.  Apparently the cat acquired the
disease from contact with an infected wild rabbit.  ...
Feeding question16 Jun 2005 02:44 GMT8
I am new to this group, and new to caring for cats and have several
questions related to the feeding of two cats.
Short version: If I intend to move from free-feeding dry food to
timed-feeding using canned food, should I have one cat's food dish in
Cat Terror16 Jun 2005 02:06 GMT13
I've receintly installed a ceiling fan (and am scheduled to install 2
more).  My 3 year old cat--timid but usually friendly and happy--is
completely terrorized by the site of it, even when it's off.  He will
not go anywhere near the room with the new fan and has taken to
Update on Louis/Inappropriate Urination16 Jun 2005 01:50 GMT2
So far so good.
We have two diffusers on the first floor. Louis has sprayed (or
squatted and peed) in four locations that we're aware of, three
downstairs, one upstairs.
The Kittens venture out15 Jun 2005 15:49 GMT10
After doing the semi-anual deck cleaning and sealing, I got the enclosure
back up.  It hasn't been opened up yet this season, so today is the first
day the kittens have seen the big OUT.
Rhett figured out how to work the pet flap in 15 minutes.  I'm so proud;
How many cats do you need to change a light bulb ???15 Jun 2005 13:47 GMT5
Answer : none
Cats have their human slaves for such simple tasks as changing light bulbs !
Does your cat watch TV? (Cats looking at pictures)15 Jun 2005 09:32 GMT13
All my cats have reacted differently to the TV. Some ignore it,
others, like Tiger, seem to be fascinated by it. He'll bat at things
moving across the screen, and get riveted if there's an animal there.
Is this just personal preference on the part of different individuals?
Kelly, and Blackie15 Jun 2005 05:31 GMT5
I just wanted to say Thank You to everyone who responded to my message. It
was really comforting to read all of the kind words. Blackie is still doing
fine, eating and drinking on her own, and doing her "business". With the
help of my mother, and husband we are constantly moving her ...
My cat jumps in the bathtub15 Jun 2005 04:27 GMT18
I have 3 cats and one of the 3 we call him Fred he loves to jump into my
bath tub can someone tell me why?
Nonprescription flea repellent?14 Jun 2005 23:06 GMT8
I would like a flea remedy I can buy at PetsMART/wherever. I do not
want it to require a prescription.
Kitty has tape worms again and I want to make sure the fleas are
killed first.
