Does cat's fur grow back at a different rate when it is shaved..29 May 2005 15:00 GMT1
depending on the area? My Yuri had his tummy shaved for surgery, then
had various other areas shaved as he required other procedures. Except
for his tummy, the fur is growing back nicely. On his stomach it has
barely grown in at all. His surgery was 2 months ago.
Cat's Tails29 May 2005 08:34 GMT7
Do cats like it when you pet their tails? I know my cat likes it when I rub
under his neck or his back or even his tummy..But when I rub down to his
tail I'm not so sure cause it wiggles! I think he enjoys it..
Also..what does it mean when he is lying down and the last two or three

Triple vaccine side effects?29 May 2005 04:07 GMT50
Our 3 year old has had his triple vaccination this morning for leukaemia,
entiritis and flu - and after being fine on returning home is now lethargic,
off his food and showing signs of annoyance when we stroke him, which is
very unlike him as he has a sweet nature.
Options for insulin resistant cat?29 May 2005 03:09 GMT3
A friend has a cat recently diagnosed with diabetes. They've
experimented with a vast range of dosages, but even at a very high
dose the cat is not improving.
Their vet has thrown up his hands and said "nothing more we can do",
Triple vaccine side-effects - follow-up29 May 2005 00:45 GMT14
As a sequel to my post yesterday:
Khamun is much better this morning, eating and happier, but still quiet.
Sure he'll be fine later today - he's booked in for the second shot in a few
weeks, I'll raise this with the vet but I suppose 24 hours of feeling rough
I'm so frustrated29 May 2005 00:05 GMT13
It looks like Bartleby has a UTI.  He peed on the bathroom floor and the
urine was blood tinged.  Bartleby is so difficult to med, this is going to
be fun.  My DH has been on litterbox cleaning duty since I can't do it, and
he does NOT clean the litterboxes every day.  I told him ...

hyperthyroid update28 May 2005 17:23 GMT1
I posted awhile back about my cat being diagnosed with hyperthyroidism.
I got her back yesterday after she had the radio-iodine treatment at the
University of Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital.  I had to
take her to Madison (2 1/2 hour drive) last Wednesday for the ...
Amber losing hair28 May 2005 04:25 GMT16
Amber spends a lot of time sleeping on her window seat.  The seat has a
heating pad (set on low) covered by a piece of fleece.  She has some
"bare" spots on her belly and I notice some hair accumulating on the
fleece (click on link to see a picture).  Do you think this is a result
Rabies law for strays28 May 2005 02:07 GMT4
I know the laws are different for every state, but I was wondering if anyone
else involved in sheltering/rescue has heard of such a thing.
It has come to our attention that in NH, we are supposed to hold a stray cat
or dog for 10 days before giving a rabies vaccine and adopting ...

Carey has been on Prozac since last Wednesday (Baytril too, as a "what

had worked at 1/2 pill from August-March, and she's been on a whole
pill from April-last week with minor improvement, but the ACL thing

We adopted an 8 week old male kitten last week and have been having it
interact with our resident 6 year old female for four days now.  She (the
resident cat) does not like the kitten at all.  For the last 4 days all she
does is hiss and growl at him.  At first the kitten was ...
