Juls (of Dimitri and Jack), Kaare (of Gustav and Rori), Alice (of
Isis), Malachi (I think her name was Susan and she wrote really
beautiful posts), the other 2 Karens?   There are also a lot of others
who I think of from time to time but can't recall right now...
ACL tear04 May 2005 01:16 GMT4
Has anyone had to deal with this with a cat?  For a variety of
reasons, I'm not opting for surgery for Carey (bone thin tortie with a
myriad of other issues).  "Rest" is advised, and we seem to be able to
prevent most jumping fairly easily (she's almost 12, not a kitten,

Web site tracking Cat foods03 May 2005 21:28 GMT7
Is there a website that lists the general good-ness of the product(s)?
I bring this up because I've noticed that "Phil" recommends a few
things over others, but then when a topic is brought up I tend to learn
something new regarding a food product.
FLUTD03 May 2005 13:54 GMT12
Our cat is about 7 years old, and was first diagnosed with Feline Lower
Urinary Tract Disorder (FLUTD) about 5 years ago.
5 years ago we were told to keep him on a diet of vet food such as Hills
'C/D' or similar.  It was spelled out that we should use dry food as this
my cat eats plastic?03 May 2005 10:58 GMT14
It's amazing after reading this newsgroup for a few weeks how much knowledge
is out there when odd situations arise.  I dont know if anyone has had this
happen before, but my cat Gabe loves to eat plastic.  Not all kinds of
plastic, but he is extremely partial to plastic grocery bag ...
losing hair03 May 2005 02:28 GMT22
My cat Jake has small patches of his fur missing on both of his sides.
Missing may be a bad description, I would say the fur looks thin, if
that makes sense to anyone...
I am bringing him in tomorrow morning to have the vet take a look, as
Keeping my wife healthy03 May 2005 00:14 GMT35
Ok, this may seem ironic. Many of the regulars here know that my wife
and I had our three kittens declawed last summer. They are now fine and
in great health and show none of the terrible side effects I was told
to expect. But none of this is the reason for this post.
Cats' growing "intelligence" as they age.02 May 2005 23:56 GMT15
Growing up, we had several cats. In college, I lived with landlords'
cats (taking better care of them than their owners, iirc). Since
getting married and returning home 15 years ago, I've had seven cats.
Wide variety.. unexpected litters, strays, purebreeds, humane society
Indiana Feral Park Cats:  Final Update (I hope)02 May 2005 21:40 GMT21
Apologies for taking so long to post this (hopefully) final update on
the feral park cats in Richmond, Indiana.
Ironically, it was politics that solved the problem.  A new mayor was
elected, and she even (while campaigning) went out with the caretakers
Pink-nosed kitties in the sun02 May 2005 20:01 GMT20
We have a mostly white cat with pink ears and a pink nose. We also have
completely enclosed a cat balcony we've constructed out of hardware
cloth and plywood for our cats to lay outside in the sun.
Question: do any of you put suntan lotion on your cats' ears? This

Sympathy for Wil Wheaton.. =(02 May 2005 18:39 GMT15
Sorry - this is kind of a weird post, but I'm compelled..
How odd these Internets are.
I've recently taken to reading the blog of the actor Wil Wheaton -
best known as Wesley Crusher on Star Trek the Next Generation. It's
Yahoo photos02 May 2005 12:59 GMT8
I liked the Yahoo photos you all have been using (Justin most recently),
so I put some of the photos of Hodge that you're probably sick of seeing
in one. Mainly because I like the slideshow feature. I'll have to dig
out even more photos . . .
