Kitty going for a swim?06 May 2005 14:37 GMT8
Today my kitty Piper went for a bit of a swim.  She was chasing a
bug and decided to jump up on the edge of the hot tub.  She wasn't
quite sure of her grip so she used her claws which don't work on
fiberglass.  The result was a very wet cat.  The hot tub is one
Bartonella - THAT's why I almost died06 May 2005 07:40 GMT11
Found out the Henry tested positive for Bartonella. Did some googling
and discovered that's the cause of "cat-scratch fever", pretty damn

NOW it makes sense that when he mauled me while I (stupidly) was

I recently adopted a cat from the local Humane Society. She's in good health

the baggy belly probably would not go away, even if ...

age]has been rubbing on and howling in every room in the house.
We've had to "screen in" the other two cats in their room. Last week,
when Stinky howled and rubbed herself on the hallway carpet, our 7 year

Listless cat05 May 2005 02:59 GMT24
Hello, I'm a new poster to the group and a relatively new cat owner.
One of our cats (almost 2 years old, former feral trapped at about 6 -
8 weeks of age) has been extremely listless and withdrawn since
yesterday afternoon. She slept most of the day yesterday, not even
Cats with feline herpes04 May 2005 22:29 GMT4
How common is herpes in cats?  I never knew there was such a thing

had two of them up for adoption (they are still there).  The
cats are isolated from the other cats and the shelter wants them

began sharing home my older male began vomiting and soon ...

developed a callous between his shoulders, and the skin there is
tender and raw.  I suppose this is an antibody reaction to one of the
vaccines.  Is this common?  Is it a problem?
