What could be wrong with my cat?05 Apr 2005 23:01 GMT4
I took Billy for his annual exam last week. He's 11 so we did a blood
panel. My vet called today and said that most things looked good, but
his white blood cell count was lower than it should be. She suggested
giving him a vitamin supplement (petonic?) and retesting in a month or
Wet food in UK?05 Apr 2005 22:26 GMT2
I have heard much (all good) about Wellness food, but can find no
trace of it in the UK.  Can anyone recommend a good wet cat food
available here?
OT: Dog runners05 Apr 2005 14:46 GMT8
This is one of my pet peeves -- some of those people who jog with their
dog in tow. Now, it never seems to occur to them that running at a set
speed for miles may not be the dog's idea of a good time. (Dogs seem to
prefer things like chasing Frisbees and squirrels.) But what made ...
Cats and Flea-Prevention05 Apr 2005 13:45 GMT9
Just thought I would post in case there is some wonderful way of
flea-prevention I haven't heard of.
I know the easiest thing would be to buy my cats a flea-collar each but
1.  They climb trees and even elasticated flea-collars COULD be a
Brain Damaged Cat - Suggestions05 Apr 2005 06:27 GMT22
I recently had my 5 month old cat go in to the vet for neutering and
declawing on the front paws. Unfortunately, during the surgery he
stopped breathing for about a minute (was revived) and he may have had
a stroke. It is now a week after the surgery, and the vet is going to
Time to kill Jackie? I hate this.05 Apr 2005 04:07 GMT24
Jackie is the old girl I adopted about seven months ago because she
looked so miserable. We took care of her primary problem, which
required extracting all of her teeth. She got somewhat better but her
diarrhea, presumably Inflamatory Bowel Disease, did not get better.
Question about Frontline05 Apr 2005 03:18 GMT2
I've been using Advantage to get rid of my cats' fleas
for years, but I've never used anything for ticks.  When
I see or feel a tick I just pull it off, and that has done
the job so far.  My cats are indoor/outdoor by the way.
Our Beloved 4 Year Old Kitty Died Out of the Blue!!05 Apr 2005 02:36 GMT12
Hello to all.
We have had a terrible family tragedy.  Our most beloved cat, Austin, died
suddenly yesterday for no apparent reason.  He had been acting perfectly
normal and loving like he always does.  I went to take a nap (as I often do

Cats bonding with other animals?04 Apr 2005 23:02 GMT6
There was a pet photo contest in the local paper and there were a
number of pictures of cats all cuddled up with dogs, one cat was even
cuddled against a guinea pig. Does anyone here have a cat that is best
buddies with a different type of pet in the house? How did they become
Polydactyl question04 Apr 2005 22:49 GMT5
I regularly browse Petfinder and always notice that they mention
whether a cat is polydactyl or not. Are there any special health or
behavioural concerns when adopting a polydactyl cat other than it's
one more nail to clip?
Bandit Now04 Apr 2005 22:08 GMT19
Here are some pictures of Bandit's wounds as of this morning.  I am just
continually amazed at the recuperative powers of our feline friends.
If you click on each of these pictures you can see the full-sized picture
directly from the camera.  I did this for two reasons - first you ...
Wah!  Ana might have a home04 Apr 2005 19:27 GMT17
I've been fostering Ana for 7 months now.  She's my foster kitten with a
liver shunt, had seizures when she was 4 months old, needs meds twice a day.
So far, no one has really shown any interest in her.  I got an inquiry
yesterday about her from the shelter website.  Called the ...
AAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!04 Apr 2005 19:00 GMT14
I was looking at the Houston Humane Society's web site to see if they do
spay/neuter cheaper than S.N.A.P. (they do, marginally, but I don't know if
they'll charge extra for a pregnancy spay).  I was paging down their list of
services/surgeries and guess what was listed???!!
