Opening the windows07 Apr 2005 13:21 GMT11
Today I thought of a way that I can open my windows (it was 70+
degrees F today) without fear of the screens popping out. I've had
two do that, years apart. One was during a "cat fight" between one of
mine, and a stray, or wandering neighbor cat through a window one

How can you love some cats, but not all?07 Apr 2005 04:44 GMT142
Someone I volunteer with is anti-TNR.  She knows that I am strongly pro-TNR.
Her main argument is that ferals destroy the wildlife, particularly
songbirds.  I, and another volunteer who does TNR, have gone round and round
about this and have come to that "agree to disagree" point ...
Outdoor Cat Bathroom Issues07 Apr 2005 04:13 GMT3
My outdoor cat has chosen to use the flower bed under my son's window as
her "litter box".  The problem is that the smell is seeping through the
walls/window and causing my son's room to smell horrible.  The flower bed
is empty and I thought maybe if I planted something there she ...
Science Diet Oral Care food question06 Apr 2005 23:41 GMT1
I just looked at the ingredients for the Science Diet Oral Care Adult
dry food and it's basically the same as the adult Chicken & Rice. The
only difference that I saw was that the Oral Care has three extra
ingredients: powdered cellulose, vegetable oil, and calcium carbonate.

Blah.. Ringworm question again06 Apr 2005 21:29 GMT11
Our shelter has had some kittens out in foster since December for ringworm.
They have been on griseofulvin, I'm not certain if it was stopped or not.
The kittens no longer show symptoms of RW, you wouldn't even suspect it to
look at them.  However, their last two cultures have ...
alternative "in heat" solutions06 Apr 2005 17:51 GMT15
My mom had taken in a young cat about 6 months ago.  After looking
into the costs of keeping her, she was ready to bring her to the
pound.  Thankfully I happened to stop by the night before and my
little brother mentioned it.  She wasn't gonna tell me because I
OT: Video Editing Shareware Recommendations06 Apr 2005 17:18 GMT6
I just "discovered" a site that hosts videos and images --
http://www.putfile.com/.
I've got a bunch of stuff I took with my S200 Elph in movie mode of the
cats that I's like to use this site for. The catch is that the files
Food recommendations-PHIL06 Apr 2005 13:44 GMT6
Phil, you recommended several super market foods recently.  Were they
regular Friskies or Fancy Feast (or both)?

Got my new girl today!!!  Took her to the vet; she tested negative for the
nasties.  She does, however, have
earmites in one ear and conjunctivitis....they said since she was in a
shelter for 3+ months, that's not abnormal.
Extremism....06 Apr 2005 10:58 GMT7
I've met militant vegitarians & militant meat & 'taters types.
But no militant omnivores.
I've met militant Catholics, Muslims, Jehova's Witnesses and Sihks.
But no militant agnostics.
Cat vomiting after eating food or drink. Any ideas?06 Apr 2005 04:30 GMT15
My 7 year old neutered male tabby Rex started vomiting immediately
after eating his dry food recently. During this time, he drank water
normally. After 1 day, he started to vomit even after drinking water. I
took him to the vet, who ran blood tests, x-rays and checked his

Indoor cat behavioral problems - report back06 Apr 2005 00:31 GMT9
OK, I just got off the phone with my vet.  She said there are no such things
as behavioral problems in inside cats.  All inside cats will live to be 50
years old.  She also said that all outdoor cats will die horribly the first
time they go out.  She also said that she personally ...
