Almost lost Kami, but she's tough!!!12 Apr 2005 21:50 GMT7
Way back when Kami was diagnosed with CRF, her vet said not to get to
upset about it because it's manageable, and he said her heart or
asthma would likely get her first.  What a charmer!  He does tell it
like he sees it, though, and I appreciated that.
Diet & Weighing Survey12 Apr 2005 20:15 GMT10
After reading many of the posts to Catnipped's survey, and having recently
acquired (the hard way) some experience on feline diabetes, I became curious
(and eager to learn more) about how closely people watch their cats' diets.
Thus:
Why does catnip/catmint affect cats?12 Apr 2005 19:29 GMT17
Every cat I've had has reacted to it in some way. Why DO cats like it so
much?

Detached Retinas...plus cataracts..12 Apr 2005 16:25 GMT19
I recently adopted a 10 year old blind cat from the shelter..Just felt so
bad for the poor thing. I live in a quiet apartment, no kids or other pets
(well, a hermit crab). I'm a senior citizen, so I do not want a kitten that
will live for 20 years! Now it's just us two old ladies.
Challenge12 Apr 2005 16:20 GMT29
Can everyone here go 24 hours, starting, say, right now, without making
one personal comment about someone else (other than, "That's a
good-looking cat!" and the like).
Just asking.
Outdoor cat poisoning - report back12 Apr 2005 16:05 GMT543
OK, as promised, I quizzed the vet, who was most helpful. His response:
Antifreeze poisoning simply isn't an issue in New Zealand. He has never seen
a case. That's never. However, it is an issue in the UK, where he has also
practised, and where it is the leading cause of cat ...
Tucker is 5 pounds lighter!12 Apr 2005 04:49 GMT62
Some of you might remember my Tucker's weight-loss journey. For five
months, he's been on a diet to lose five pounds. It's been slow, but
steady, and this morning he weighed in at his goal: 16 lbs! Hooray!
He's looking great! He has a physique and I can feel his ribs again
other cat message boards12 Apr 2005 03:54 GMT3
I've been checking out other cat message boards..Some of them are way too
gooey for me, also hard to get answers to more complex questions. Everyone
on them seemed to have OD'd on Barney...
What other message boards are there that are similar to this one in info
Anti-inflammatory shots after spaying and neutering12 Apr 2005 01:00 GMT16
Is this usual or frequent in other(your) clinics?
Its a new thing at my vets.  I just had three cats sterilized this week, two
females and one male.   I had another one neutered right last summer and
this new addition (especially to the bill) was not present back then.   I've
My cats third eyes is 1/3 closed11 Apr 2005 23:50 GMT10
My cats third eye lids are 1/3 closed and red. I noticed this about three
days ago and she had some drainage in both eyes. Her nose was runny and she
sneezed once in awhile. I thoght she might have a cold, because she eats ok
but after reading about Haw's and horners syndrome, ...
Visiting a FeLV positive cat?11 Apr 2005 22:38 GMT3
Got a friend who just got a FeLV positive cat, and want to confirm the
precautions I think I should take to keep our FeLV negative cats safe.
If I visit him and play with his cat, I figure I should be able to wash my
hands (or whatever other body parts/clothes he touches) when I ...

Need Info11 Apr 2005 14:06 GMT2
Does anyone know of a low-cost spay and neuter clinic near Mandeville, LA or
Picayune, MS?
I have a friend to live near there who took in her two granddaughters, their
puppy and their two *unneutered* cats - one male, one female.  She didn't

Kidney Failure: What might she Eat now ?? 11 Apr 2005 09:03 GMT16
We guess that three year old Bandit got poisoned
around Christmas time, but we didn't notice her
kidney failure until about a month ago when she
got lethargic, and noticed a huge weight loss.
