God is an Iron!14 Apr 2005 14:34 GMT17
I post a lot on rpca and talk all the time about how big Sammy is (almost 15
pounds and big enough to stand on the floor and put her front paws on my
kitchen counter).  People there have asked that I take pictures of all of
mine together so they can get a comparison of Sammy with ...
Steroid frequency - cats14 Apr 2005 05:43 GMT2
I have two cats with allergies. Today one had an injection of a steroid,
Depo Medrol.
When I asked the vet how often it would be safe to get these injections,
he said if necessary, every 3 - 4 weeks would be ok. He said it's pretty
Allergies14 Apr 2005 05:39 GMT2
I have had cats around for decades, and until the past couple years
never had a cat with an allergy. Now I have two, unrelated cats,
different ages, with allergies.
About 1 1/2 years ago one cat, Speedy, began loosing hair. Two different

Apology13 Apr 2005 23:54 GMT110
I would like to apologize to everyone here who has been subjected to my
frustration, invective, and unladylike language in the recent thread
regarding letting cats go roam outdoors.
The subject has devolved to petty bickering and I will no longer take part
Followup to howling kitty13 Apr 2005 23:34 GMT2
Thanks to all that replied to my original posting.
After skolding us and bringing their shots up to date, both of our cats
were givin a clean bill of health.  That was big bucks to me, givin the
amount of medical expenses I've had so far this year.
To lighten the mood - I lost my keys (old)13 Apr 2005 23:32 GMT1
So I lost my keys, and no-one's at home but Otis fluffy bunny.  I
shout through the letter box - "Otis, you're a very clever cat and if
you can fetch the spare set of keys and jump up and pass them through
the letter box I'll give you a treat".  He comes up to the letter box
Diet Question13 Apr 2005 22:12 GMT1
I'd like opinions please...
Sammy just made 1 year old on April 8.  As most of you have seen from her
pictures and my description, she's a *big* girl (she can stand on the floor
on her hind legs and put her front paws on my kitchen counter and she weighs
Allowing Cats to Roam Unsupervised Outside13 Apr 2005 21:43 GMT15
Cats are safer indoors than outdoors ANYWHERE THERE ARE CARS which is
generally anywhere there are people. By allowing your cat to roam
unsupervised you are endangering its health and life, and that is wrong.
Info needed about caring for a half-blind cat13 Apr 2005 20:57 GMT7
I just adopted Zeus, a two-year-old neutered male, medium build, yellow
tabby with white paws. The change in the animal has been tremendous. At
the shelter he was docile, passive and quiet. Now that's he's home, he's
turned into a bundle of enthusiasm. He sings and trills and purrs ...

Injured cat, emergency vet on his way...what to do until then13 Apr 2005 10:44 GMT10
We found a cat in our yard this afternoon, looks like he was just hit by a
car, or fell..He was limping, barely walking, left leg seems out of joint -
it is at an "off" angle..there is a big scrape at the "hip" part of the
leg..

Oowweee, My Toes!12 Apr 2005 22:01 GMT3
Why, oh why, doesn't the kitty-cat realise that my toes under the blanket
are the same ones that are attached to my body?
Last night, I must have moved in my sleep and got a wide-awake (= bored) cat
attacking the greeblies in the bed.  I can remember the teeth sinking into
