Bandit's Boo-boo - Pictures13 Mar 2005 01:40 GMT6
Kind of gross, but for those of you who are interested in veterinary
medicine you might want to have a look.  Pictures of Bandit's boo-boo (sorry
baby, Mommy's not kissing this one!):

OT:  humor - hamlet's cat's soliquy13 Mar 2005 00:29 GMT1
From rec.humor.funny:
To go outside, and there perchance to stay
Or to remain within: that is the question:

Senior canned food? (UK)13 Mar 2005 00:27 GMT7
Another Meep question:
She's 8 now, and we're having a harder time keeping her weight down.
Additionally, she's had a cystitis attack, and has structure problems
that I believe will predispose her to arthritis (which she may or may
No more whining: Three Happy Cats12 Mar 2005 16:26 GMT13
Dropped off Henry tonight. He was thrilled, zooming around the house
with his tail up, finding all the little treats and surprises his new
host prepared for him, "cheeking" the furniture. If that's the last
time I see him, it will be a good memory.
Interesting behavior12 Mar 2005 16:22 GMT1
Last night, I scrubbed out the kitties litter boxes. While I was doing
this, Elwood was watching very closely, ready to make his move. When I
set the first one down, he hopped in there before Jake knew what was
happening, and took a big ol' dump!
Advice for cat with gingivitis12 Mar 2005 14:28 GMT4
I adopted a cat this week.  His previous owner had him for four years.
He's five years old now.
I took him to the vet for a complete checkup and he said the cat has
gingivitis.  He showed the gums to me.  He said luckily it wasn't too
Feline blood donors12 Mar 2005 11:36 GMT3
I just learned that vet clinics and hospitals have blood donors! Like,
animals that come in to donate however often, or sometimes that live there
for a period and donate regularly.
How does this work?
Urgent - Kitten burned in brush fire12 Mar 2005 05:04 GMT24
We were burning some dead trees and brush today, and while doing so, saw one
of our kittens dart into the brush fire. It was in there for quite some
time, and later came out, pretty severely burned.  His eyes seem to be
almost entirely closed up, and obvious all of his fur is in ...
This is a CAT group not a CHAT group12 Mar 2005 03:38 GMT46
If you want to talk about your religion or your politics, take it to an
appropriate group. This group is for CATS not CHAT. Marking a post "OT"
or "Way OT", does not make it somehow OK. For those of you who know
better, handle it as you would a troll. Don't respond to these idiots!
My cat's got fleas!12 Mar 2005 00:18 GMT8
I have a cat that's indoors most of the time, but we let him outside to
romp around every once in a while.  The problem is, he sometimes comes
home with fleas.  We've tried a flea collar and flea and tick oil, but
neither work.  Does anyone know what the best way to keep fleas off ...

help new cat owner11 Mar 2005 19:40 GMT6
I have two 9 month old indoor boy cats.  They are scheduled to be neutered
in 2 weeks.  One of the boys is mild, sweet, calm, the other has times when
he is lovable but recently he has been having some very aggressive
behavior. He tries to run out side every chance he gets.  He has ...
RIP Louie11 Mar 2005 18:31 GMT21
I'm sorry to announce that Louie was put to sleep at approximately
10:00 AM this morning. All week he was having a terrible time with
seizures and fainting spells. I even rushed him to the emergency clinic
at midnight on Tuesday. He tried two different kinds of heart medicine,
Interesting Henry update: possible adoption11 Mar 2005 17:06 GMT65
Meghan has set me up with someone who may be interested in adopting
Henry! They'll be visiting tomorrow. I need to make sure Henry's been
well-brushed...
In anticipation of this, I took Henry to the vet today for a general
